what's it with hardcore bands i love coming back in 2013 and producing abysmal content?
Who's next? La Dispute? ALLB?
Digging: Danny L Harle - 1UL
Who are the others? Just curious
touche amore and DGD (although dtbm 2 was awful already)
i guess there were some others but i already forgot they even exist
this is really bad
hopefully this will be the odd one out
I hope this isn't an indication of what the album will sound like or this is going to be a 2.5
I don't understand the hate, I think it's awesome. I like the fact it sounds different than anything off of "Love let Me Go". The only thing weird at times is those backing vocals.
the only weird thing is everything
Holy shit that song rules.
Digging: Simply Saucer - Cyborgs Revisited
I pretty much liked More Than Life cuz they were different enough from the wave bands, but this song sounds way more in line with that sound or alexisonfire or some shit
I don't want to sound like a dick, but it always annoys me when people name their news articles "band new song" instead of "new band song"
Not that any of my articles are good
Digging: Yazz Ahmed - La Saboteuse
There you go Owantja, I changed it just for you ;)
I love you
Bands like to take different directions, more at 11
well fuck bands
not something I would listen again
i actually like this, granted not as much as llmg, but i still dig it
Digging: Tyler, the Creator - Flower Boy
Hah, I like how the lyrics in the description are all caps now
"what's it with hardcore bands i love coming back in 2013 and producing abysmal content?

ALLB is hardcore? Someone should've informed me sooner
ya i lied they're k-pop
I don't even know what to think about this...
This is so confusing.
well this was kind of a curveball
Digging: Gang Of Youths - Go Farther In Lightness
naw not really but it's no scarlet skyline
people always over-react about first songs. especially in a case like this one, where a band re-united to follow up their one, awesome LP. Calm down children, and have an open mind.
ps I think the song is great, really interested to see how it fits into the album.
^ What he said.
Aids just likes it cuz he's a big alexisonfire fan
that was sick
Nah, this is excellent.
my bra let 'em go
Pretty beast, vocals are emo as fuck
I enjoyed it thoroughly. I will comment that the sung vocals emphasized the sub par lyrics a bit though
Trebor "punk snob" doesn't really suit you.

Song is probably opener or closer. Either way 2/5
trebors been pretty snobby since he made contributor :/
i mean he has good taste usually but no need to be douchey about it ya know
Everything he said in this thread was true though
song is pretty good but the whole 50's slicked back cropped dad hair plus face/neck tattoo tumblrpunk look needs to stop before it gets any sillier than it already is.
"Everything he said in this thread was true though"
i know i didn't mean in this thread necessarily, just in general.
Gotta follow trends though, which is exactly what this band is
true but it's always amusing to me when every member in a band has the same haircut, at least be a little more subtle about your trendhopping.
Hair is weird, man
i actually kinda dug most of that but the rough vocals seem like they don't fit at all in parts. interesting first song choice
This is really different. Not sure how I feel about it.
not digging this, hope its a one off
Digging: Trapped Under Ice - Heatwave
Yeah I really don't care for this. Some hip-as-shit haircuts in dat video doe.
"Song is good. But that hair does not go with them jeans." - aubergine
Even though the band is changing, what trend are they following exactly, guys? If someone says "wave," then you're an idiot.
Are you serious? They blatantly worshiped the fuck out of Defeater/MLIW and now they are hoping on the trend of post rock infused hardcore if this new track is anything to go by (and German youth cuts)
german youth cuts??????????????????????????????????????????????????
this isn't post rock infused hardcore though, I don't know what it is but I don't like it
ya but why call it that
i mean the ~~~~hair~ not the ~post-rock~~~~ just CLARIFYING
oh I see
Well maybe he meant to say hitler youth, which would make more sense to me
German youth cut = Hitler Youth hairstyle. Figured that woulda been obvious..
And this is most definitely postrock/hardcore, Dino
this is in no way obvious but rather extremely offensive.
In what way is that offensive?
germans are mad sensitive about their past and suggesting that the hitler youth is a german youth is ~outrageous~.
the english wikipedia refers to a subdivision of the hitler youth as german youth though so i guess it's not that big of a deal afterall.
^ Fabulously outrageous
"Are you serious? They blatantly worshiped the fuck out of Defeater/MLIW and now they are hoping on the trend of post rock
infused hardcore if this new track is anything to go by (and German youth cuts)"
They never sounded like neither Defeater nor MLIW. Nothing like either. And their isn't any post-rock at all in this song.
Noodly guitar leads? Must be post-rock.
Those leads aren't noodly and if you don't hear the post-rock influence in this song then you are deaf
I loved their first record but it was DEFINITELY MLIW worship music. Like, that influence is staggeringly obvious. I don't think there's much post-rock in this, but I can certainly hear the other wave bands, especially touché amore
This song is one hell of a grower. It gets better every time. You're makin it hard to breathe
Just how many e-ponies is an eponymous
Six? Or was it seven
Potentially somewhere in the nebulous void between six and seven. Eight is completely out of the question, naturally.
pre-orders for their new album are up, getting pumped
Digging: IDLES - Brutalism
Lol I don't hear MLIW influence at all outside of both bands being melodic hardcore on MTL's first album
