i haven't listened to soulfly since their first album. Sounds more Metal-Core than anything.

How do Soulfly ever sound metalcore what
|
| |
Nothing gets me more pumped than a studio video in slow motion with a poorly rendered skull imposed on top
|
| |
Oh yeah criticise the video as much as you like but calling Soulfly metalcore is an indictment of what is wrong with the metal community nowadays. Anything with a beatdown-y part (despite its popularity in the 90s and even late 80s with Sepultura, Slayer and other groove oriented bands using it a lot) is instantly metalcore. EVERYTHING IS METALCORE

Pretty stupid calling Soulfly metalcore.
|
| |
They've dabbled in nu-metal but not core. Song is pretty decent.
|
| |
not a bad song
|
| |
lol if it didnt say soulfly at the top of the page you all say that its metalcore. god you guys suck
|
| |
Not really no. The riffs are pretty standard groove/thrash style.
|
| |
This happens all the time. Some people just don't know what Metalcore is.
|
| |
Anything that isn't at 250bpm with excessive tremolos and completely void of slower moments is automatically metalcore. Or at least that's what it's gonna end up like in a few years at this rate.
|
| |
Doesn't sound like metalcore at all. Maybe a little bit nu-metal with some thrash. I don't really
see a point in trying to find a genre other than "modern metal" though, to be honest.
Song is decent. I believe this is the first time i've listened to these guys.

I just feel like soulfly is trying to fit in with the metal core trend. They used to incorporate hip hop. They were in the same realm as early Deftones, where as they evolved and Soulfly is just adapting.
