Passing the River, from Kayo Dot's upcoming sixth album Hubardo is available for streaming online at the following link:
It is the third track from Hubardo to be streamed, after the atmospheric And He Built Him A Boat and the explosive Thief. Passing the River is stranger than either of them and is over ten minutes long.
Hubardo will be released digitally on September 1st
I can't wait to hear this whole album. Holy hell this song is good.
Digging: Oomori Seiko - You Want To Die If You Do Not Use The Magic
it's awesome. and i just got an email from toby- if you preordered, you'll actually receive the download code in your inbox tomorrow evening. :DDD
OHMYSHIT SO EXCITED CAN'T WAIT FOR THE DOWNLOAD CODE
Are we all preorder people?
Looking forward to tomorrow. Then November.
I preordered the vinyl, yeah.
Just so you guys know the article is mistaken, it's actually coming out August 30th which is the day after tommarrow.
Since I don't want to listen to the track, could you guys tell me how the production is, I mean are we talking PTS quality or what? I hope the production is good
Well, the production sounds like it will be good, but this upload on this player doesn't really do the song justice. It lacks bass and sounds a little tinny.
Apologies, I thought I read it as September 1st somewhere
If this is coming out in just a few days, I'll listen to the song then. I've heard enough to know I'm going to buy this.
So excited to listen to the whole album later today!
Well I really hope the production is super good, the tracks so far seem to have meh production but that might be just the uploads have low quality. I hope the album isn't brought down by meh production, imagine the shame!
yo tommy u jam toby?
Digging: Burial - Rival Dealer
Reviews are popping up. http://www.scenepointblank.com/reviews/kayo-dot/hubardo/

Digging: The Depreciation Guild - In Her Gentle Jaws
Here's another review. http://hearwaxmedia.com/kayo-dot-hubardo/
This is sounding like it will be the absolute AOTY. That was incredible, as the other tracks have been.
I am so happy right now.
Digging: SORNE - Ego Altar
Those reviews are absolutely obscene
wag gonna wag album will wag
Got my download code! I'm not home though! Listening to this later.
Downloading now. Taking a shower, then getting out the sketchbook, cracking a beer, and slapping on the cans. The rest of the world be damned.
You guys have your codes?? I haven't got anything (and I defo preordered...)
Loving it so far. Thief is fantastic.
I received my code about around 5:00 eastern.
Uhuh...hopefully I'll get mine soon; I CAN'T WAIT ANY LONGER!!!!!
My download just completed. Time to dig out the headphones!
Just got mine too :]
Therefore...Downloading now. Taking a shower, then getting out the sketchbook, cracking a beer, and slapping on the cans. The rest of the world be damned.
doubt this is better than choirs as some have claimed but i'm stoked for this
should be on par with dowsing at least
Digging: Magnolia Electric Co - Trials and Errors
^agreed, but who's to say....
This keeps getting better and better (am on The First Matter); if the rest of it keeps this up, it could well be their best
HOW'S THE PRODUCTION?
What toby driver album would you compare it to in terms of production?
The production is fine; I'd say that it's a less brittle version of Dowsing's
Been listening and it's awesome so far. Nothing wrong with the production. Sounds great.
The albums a journey to say the least. I'm enjoying it about as much as I enjoy Choirs. So many details that pass you by on first listen.
I love how it does blend styles from across their discog but still sounds new
I hear so much Zappa in Wait of the World. Driver had said they were going to inject some fun into the music, it really shows
there. Favorite track on the album, great closer.
It really does and the weird thing is that it sounds quite similar to Abyss Hinge 2 in parts, which was 100% dark and serious
I'm not sure if I have a fave yet...Passing the River, Zlida Caosgi and Crown-In-The-Muck are up there
Wait threw me off when it came on, after And He Built a Boat which felt so calm and reserved.
And He Built Him a Boat is magical, it was a great choice of first single
cool album so far
Yeah, "Wait of the World" definitely has Coyote elements to it, especially that random keyboard solo in the background.
