English progressive metal act Haken, are streaming a video for the song "Pareidolia" at the official YouTube channel of Inside Out Records.
You can see the video right here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kr_gROZmTtA
"Pareidolia" is part of the band's upcoming album The Mountain, which is due for release on September 3.
Wasn't aware of this band, but the song's great, the bouzouki lead in the middle of the song is fantastic.
This was pretty good
Band is amazing, but this was posted at least a week ago.
True, but still this post is ahead of the official album release, plus it is impossible to post all news the minute they're up.
Used to dig Visions, but not so much anymore. I'll probably check out The Mountain though.
Digging: Thank You Scientist - Maps of Non-Existent Places
I was just a little let down cuz I'm actually following all of the news on this album kinda fanboyishly so I was hoping for another new song haha, no diss intended. Also, check out Visions.
Digging: Disgrace - Inside the Labyrinth of Depression
Digging: Mansions - Doom Loop
In case anybody wants to know there's a leak of this already in 320
Song was decent to good with some moments that leaned more towards good. Overall, it didn't get much better than that. The vocals fit, however the compositional melodies became monotonous and redundant at times. Now, the vocals fit the arranged passages but there is no excuse for those passages not to vary. Regardless, the musical passages could remain the same while leaving the vocalist with the most accountability. In summary, this song could have been taken from 'good' to 'great/excellent' with simply greater attention given to vocal composition; such as, octave dynamics and melodic interchanges, which is a broad term but I hope it relays the gist of what I'm trying to say.
Listened again with super quality headphones and the production is solid. Overall, I feel like this song was a 3.5-4 max.
I don't mean to be rude, but you seem to have lost your thoughts there in the middle of all that ranting about passages.
That was pretty much rude. And I cried.
