Casey Crescenzo goes Beethoven

2013-08-13 by NBA | 35 Comments
Casey Crescenzo, brains behind the indie/prog group The Dear Hunter, has decided to continue pushing his creative limits and has traveled to the Czech Republic with plans to write a symphony. As the man himself explains:

"With 5 full length records, including 36-song rock opera “The Color Spectrum” and most recently “Migrant” under my belt as The Dear Hunter, I am setting out on my next endeavor. To write and record a Symphony with a full orchestra is a MAJOR undertaking, and comes with a tremendous financial commitment. The Symphony will consist of 4 movements and will be recorded by the BRNO Orchestra in the Czech Republic this November."

Mr. Crescenzo has taken to Pledgemusic asking fans for support in releasing his newest work which can be accessed here:

I can't tell how much he's asking for looking at the page. But it's a cool idea, and I can see this being really good. I always wished modern musicians would approach orchestral symphonies instead of just making arrangements of their own songs.

I still like BTHATS most of all his projects and I doubt he'll ever top it. But still, excited for this.

Some people have to realize that conceptual music isn't always something you can just 'finish' whenever you have the time for it. It's a state of mind kind of thing, and he obviously has something else on his mind right now.

here's hoping those who think that never progress in their lives since that's what you're essentially wishing on this guy here.
