Norwegian progressive/experimental metal band Leprous have been around since 2001 releasing 4 albums, 3 of which have garnered very high acclaim. Rein Blomquist joined the band in 2011 and provided the low ends for their 2 latest, and most successful, albums, Bilateral and Coal, and has left due to a change in priorities.
"As some of you might have suspected, Rein and Leprous have chosen different paths for the future. Rein has been a part of Leprous in our two best years so far, and we are forever grateful for all the great music good times!".
"The time has come for me to part ways with Leprous. I feel the need to prioritize
different things in life, and as Leprous is a band that needs, and deserves, a high level of dedication, I decided that the best course of action was to take my leave".
The band have found a replacement in Martin Skrebergene who will be joining the band
during their current European tour.
Apparently he kicks ass. Rein was great but quite a bit of the time it seemed as if he was absent,
hoping Martins more dynamic and brings more ideas to the table. That being said Mediocrity wins'
basslines are sooo good
