Guy is trying, but I find his singing really dull and boring. Might be just his voice though. I'd rather listen to DT (preferably without LaBrie!).

I like LaBrie's voice in this song.

On the contrary, his work in the last DT album was indeed uninspired, but then again, the whole album was like that.

This is just weird, the verses sound really familiar from A Dramatic Turn Of Events.. but it's really poppy, even the lyrics are cheesy as fuck and belong in a mainstream pop song and that's what weirds me out about it coming from a guy on top of prog/metal.

Pretty good song, it's probably the "Euphoric" of the album, looking forward to this release.

LaBrie has never been a good lyricist.

The last DT album was one of their best. You don't think Breaking All Illusions, Bridges in the Sky, and Outcry were good songs?

wasn't really that catchy at all, I prefer his heavier, slightly less cheesy songs

The problem with any LaBrie project is that it has LaBrie in it

Kind of seems they're like wasting Marco's talent on this record. His new solo album had some fantastic stuff on it so it's not that he's lost his edge..

I used to love DT but now his voice just irks me. It could be the greatest instrumental composition of all time but if he was singing it'd still be a C+, B- at best.

I think it's cool he's doing something different from DT, but I wasn't a huge fan of this.
It's not bad as a whole, but I thought the lyrics kinda sucked (although the melodies were nice). "Agony" was a much stronger track IMO.

I disagree, I think it was their best one since Six Degrees. The songwriting was more inspired than
any of their recent albums, which all sounded really forced. Breaking All Illusions is one of my
top 5 songs by them.

LaBrie has never been a good lyricist.

I heard that one of the other members wrote the lyrics to this one. But come on, you guys all know
that it wouldn't be a song with James Labrie singing without cheesy lyrics.

Didn't Portnoy write a lot of the DT lyrics?

Doesn't really matter though, could be the best lyrics ever but as long as they're coming out of this dude's mouth they'll always sound like absolute dog shit. LaBrie completely ruins any chance of me liking DT at all. Oh and this song is terrible.

Petrucci has always written most of the lyrics, but Portnoy was definitely the second biggest contributor with Myung throwing in a few words here and there. With Portnoy gone, it's really just been Petrucci writing practically everything lyrics wise.

Ahh word well yeah i wasn't totally sure but just wanted to point out it wasn't LaBrie who was writing the DT lyrics

This man is a reason I've never been into DT, even though I admit I like the instrumental part of DT. However, as someone pointed out, it could be the best instrumental song ever, his voice just ruins it.
