none of their stuff has ever had THAT many breakdowns. besides when they do use breakdowns, they're usually pretty unique/creative sounding so i don't mind.

"This is... the bomb .. pre-order"

This band needs to break up and bring back The Fortune Teller. Don't care if it was a THA clone, they ruled.
|
| |
"This is the Elitist I know and love"
Dafuq is this?
|
| |
Dafuq is this?
The Trvth
|
| |
Dafuq wuzzat?
|
| |
Product placement alert!
Look for the Chevrolet symbol in the band's logo.
|
| |
Holy crap you're right!
Corvettecore.
|
| |
wow.
This sounds fucking terrible.
|
| |
it didnt sound like breakdowns to me. maybe i'm just fanboying hard here but it sounded pretty close to the elitist i know and love. good groovy riffage.
|
| |
1:15 and 1:50 and the rest might as well have been breakdowns.
I honestly can't believe I made it through that. Can't imagine what listening to the whole album would be like.
O and the band name is worse than their music. Seriously, Elitist? *Facepalm*
|
| |
I actually like the name.
It's relatable =)
|
| |
This is getting way too much hate.
|
| |
agreed, but it's the internet, i'm not surprised.
besides these guys are getting a pretty big fanbase! i'm seeing them in canada in a few weeks
|
| |
this soundss better than their single they released. now im fuckin stoked
|
| |
They get hate because they sound like every other breakdown heavy band out there. Their songwriting isn't anything to write home about either.
|
| |
thank god this is the internet or i'd slap the shit out of you nigga. the word breakdown has lost all
meaning apparently and refers to any metalcore band you dont like
|
| |
Not bad, may have to check this out.
|
| |
getting a big fan base? the best stuff they ever did was long long ago in a place they will never reach again... lol
|
| |
Elitist are taking over metal. Time to take down your Iron Maiden posters and donate your Metallica shirts to charity shops. Elitist are the future. I honestly can't wait for this
|
| |
lol
|
| |
If "breakdown" doesn't work for you, then how about this: They use the lowest open note on their guitar way too much. Even when they do tons of other fret work, they always return to chugging that open note as a starting point.
OPENFRETOPENFRETOPENFRET - COOL LICK OR CHORD - OPENFRETOPENFRETOPENFRET
Lots of bands like this do it, even bands I like, but it's just a fact. It limits, makes stuff samey. Fin.
|
| |
oh my god get me the doctor because I have cancer.

Well, considering that definition is NOT the definition of a breakdown, at all; "breakdown" doesn't work for me.
I was expecting this too be atrocious based off of the comments here. I was a bit taken back when it wasn't. Nothing groundbreaking, but they are churning the wheel of the metalcore genre a tad.
I can finally enjoy the vocals. That only took two EP's.
|
| |
If they didn't waylay on the bottom strings open all the time it might have a heavier impact. As is it doesn't sound terrible, but awfully boring. Pass, unless the rest of each of those songs is completely different.
|
| |
slightly cool, but i'm pretty much done with this style of music. album will probably be 3/5
|
| |
O and the band name is worse than their music. Seriously, Elitist? *Facepalm*
LOL
every song they have is almost ENTIRELY breakdowns.
If something is entirely a breakdown, doesn't that mean it was never a breakdown?
|
| |
SmokingTheClouds: I'm not saying that's the definition of a breakdown. I'm saying that's what others are trying to convey to you, because it's not terribly far off from a breakdown to never stop palm muting the open note.
|
| |
i leave for a day and come back to nothing but rage and arguments. DAMN sputnik pls
|
| |
It wasn't rage and arguments before you left?
|
| |
i had hopes for elitist fan discussion ;_;
|
| |
Well that was shit
|
| |
the word breakdown has lost all meaning apparently and refers to any metalcore band you dont like
No, the word "breakdown" refers to the word "breakdown".
|
| |
Listen to this, it's better

|
| |
......no ^
|
| |
No urgency, that was completely terrible and laughably bad. I hope you get hit by a magical dick the next time you're behind the wheel of a car for posting that garbage.
|
| |
that escalated quickly
|
| |
He's obviously in the band. I hope he isn't one of the vocalists because they were both genuinely terrible.
|
| |
lol^
|
| |
So mediocre, I can't even give these guys a proper listen
|
| |
LOL @ Urgency. Those vocals..... wow. Don't post that anywhere else for your bands sake.
The amount of negativity Elitist is getting is actually a bit surprising.
|
| |
I honestly have no idea why it surprises you.
|
| |
Wow....leaked..and I'm surprised...very solid stuff.
|
| |
wats dis djentcore, gay
|
| |
listening now, so far loving it
|
| |
Return To Sender is actually so fucking good. like holy shit. might be one of my favourite elitist songs. the technical riffage satisfies my elitist craving
|
| |
Listening to the EP, and it really doesn't impress me that much at all. I mean it's not bad, but it PALES in comparison to Reshape Reason, which was amazing. Maybe it'll grow on me, but so far BTB is a 3.
|
| |
so far it's a 3.5 for me, i dont think it pales but it's defs not as good.
might grow on me though, and it's still a solid release.
