Scar The Martyr unveiled

The new side project of Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison has today been unveiled as Scar the Martyr, with a lineup of Jordison on drums, bass and additional guitar, Jed Simon (ex-Strapping Young Lad, Zimmers Hole) and Kris Norris (ex-Darkest Hour, Threat Signal) on guitars, Chris Vrenna (ex-Nine Inch Nails, ex-Marilyn Manson) on keyboards and the unknown Henry Derek on vocals. The debut album from the group is set to drop in Autumn and is to be released by Roadrunner Records.

Did Jed Simon even write any of Strapping Young Lad's music? It was pretty much just Devin Townsend wasn't it?

Nah Jed wrote a lot of the stuff from the self titled and onward. Particularly on SYL where Devy was busy with Accelerated Evolution so Jed wrote most of the riffs and ended up recording the majority too.
