its pretty good
it sounds too much like roads though which is what i was hoping it wouldnt
ill reserve any more judgement for the full album
Digging: The Caretaker - An Empty Bliss Beyond This World
Not all that impressed. Hopefully it fits into the bigger picture of the album...
Digging: Violent Soho - Hungry Ghost
this is incredible
I haven't listened to any of their other stuff so I can't compare it, but I love it.
Not a bad song, actually quite catchy.
Digging: Leviathan - Scar Sighted
I dig the drum production more, and the song was really cool for a first listen
this sounds better than all of roads imo
It sounds more on the money as to what they're going for. I felt Roads... was a little disjointed in some areas.
this is so perfect.
So glad we finally have a recorded version of this song. So damn good.
Digging: Drake - If You're Reading This It's Too Late
Digging: Wallower - Vanishing In Bloom
Thought it ruled.
The last three minutes or so are simply epic.
Optimistic black metal. Or at least sounds like it.
Really good song
It's really damn cool if you can ignore the angry white dude screeching unintelligibly at you for 9 minutes.
Digging: Lo' There Do I See My Brother - Northern Shore
I surely will, because this song is fantastic.
Honestly would be happy if they just became a Mogwai cover band.
Digging: Imperial Triumphant - Abyssal Gods
I enjoyed the screaming.
Never listened to anything of theirs before, but I'm pretty impressed with this.
I liked this. However, I would've enjoyed the vocals being a *little* higher in the mix.
It was good but I thought the riffs were a bit weird and didn't fit that well with the drums or vox
Digging: Drudkh - Microcosmos
i'm liking this a lot
the vocals are so good. he has a chilling presence, especially live.
The vocals are always fantastic. And if they were just a heavy Mogwai cover band I'd still be jazzed.
2013 is stacked. Absolutely loving this song, I can't wait to blind-purchase this album
song is great, excited to hear the full album. sounds like it's mostly post-rock and bm now, not really any gaze
I think the streaming quality takes away from the song a bit, but it still sounds fantastic. Cannot wait for the new record, and to hopefully see them live again soon. They put on a spectacular show with Rosetta and Russian Circles last I saw them.
This is awesome
Album will rule just like the last one.
Digging: Chief Keef - Sorry 4 The Weight
Vocals sound different this time around, a little more raw than previously. Which is cool, because they better represent his live sound.
Digging: Ethereal Shroud - They Became the Falling Ash
amazing, but I expected nothing less from these guys.
hipster black metal
song is alright
i don't hate this, it's the happiest black metal song i've ever heard but it's not absolutely awful like roads was
i'm not so keen on the vocals though, they just sound screechy and forced, they don't variate at all
yeah man idk
drums definitely stepped it up a notch
Oh fuck that was a solidddddddd track. Can't wait for this album to drop
I can see what you mean about the vocals, Noctus, which is sad since this is closer to what he actually sounds like live. And holy man those drums are definitely better this time around.
the drum tone is damn good. i like it
the guitar parts are definitely "happier" than on Roads to judah
drums aside this is sub-par envy worship
track is great, as expected.
yeah no this does not sound at all like Envy
ehhh the melodies themselves are comparable but the comparison ends there, really
there are countless bands that use similar melodies anyway
agreed with noctus on this one
omg the screamo vocals are back
but it's not absolutely awful like roads was
Oh fuck off Noctus.
i am so pleased
The drum part at 1:09 is super gnarly, I hope this record has a lot of those unexpected moments
this is the first time in a while that a black metal song has brought me feels
Digging: Ashdautas - Where the Sun is Silent...
This is faux dick-in-the butt black metal.
yeah no this does not sound at all like Envy
what envy are trying to do with screamo/post-hardcore deafheaven are trying to do with black metal, i don't think it's an unfair comparison
i just don't think they're as good musicians as envy are
i mean this is an improvement, yeah, but they have a long way to go before they convince me
lol @envy are trying, they've done it
fine, yes, whatever, slip up of words there
New album will rule agreed.
didn't love this at first but its really good. screw purists, its called doing something different
the first few minutes are awesome
idk how to describe it but theres this one super inspiring part like a minute or two in and its awesoem
yeah this song rules
