It's better than some of their ballads but his voice kind of ruins it.

i like it, though it's a tad generic. feels nice to have the guy being vulnerable and sincere again,
it never felt that way with the ballads on awake

Collide>Comatose but both rule. Song is better than most of Awake but it's still not very good.

Digging: Jakob - Sines

John Cooper's voice is just not good enough to carry a ballad... or good enough anymore to carry about any song. Way too scratchy now. And not in a good "Collide" sort of way either.
Hows about we hear their drummer Jen Ledger take over some (or all) vocal duties? Now THERE'S an idea! Would make this stuff actually listenable...

I don't have issue with a scratchy voice, myself. I just don't feel a lot of soul from these guys anymore, is the thing.

I'm sorry, but Jen sucked. Korey was a better backup singer than Jen. Replacing Korey with Jen was one of the things I hated most about Awake.

Better than "Sick Of It"m but still, pretty average.
"Sick Of It" is awful. Listened to it once and I'm already "sick of it".

Their new one, "Rise", is way better than this and "Sick Of It".

They've released four singles before the album has even been released. John Cooper, what the fuck are you thinking?
