Oh god.
|
| |
sounds like a fucking stadium anthem from the teaser. Interested in a concept album but this turns me off
|
| |
Yikes.
|
| |
As much as I hate to admit it, Comatose was great. And their new drummer/singer is great. But I have no hopes for this.
|
| |
Where the hell is that band that made "Collide"? Seriously, that album was phenomenal and then they sold out so hard
|
| |
These guys should collab with Skrillex
|
| |
Everything they've done is just Nickleback for people who are too cool for Nickleback.
|
| |
Meh, reminds me of "Bully" by Shinedown, which was the worst song ever done by them. No sir, don't like it.
|
| |
Sick Of It
ironic?
|
| |
zzz
|
| |
"These guys should collab with Skrillex"
Why does this not sound like a horrible idea?
|
| |
Oh man, my 13 year old self would be PUMPED.
|
| |
the title of the song sucks, i'm a little curious on this though
if it's high quality i might enjoy it, even if i've grown off of mainstream rock considerably since
pre-awake
|
| |
Another fucking Howard Benson abomination. God damn it.
|
| |
i don't know if i ever listened to alien youth but if it's some parts comatose maybe there will be a salvageable song or two
|
| |
One of the bands that I have radically outgrown between their albums.
|
| |
Alien Youth ftw!
|
| |
Song is predictable. The "concept album" thing has potential, though. I always thought that Skillet should have gone more progressive after Comatose.
|
| |
^^
Do they even have it in them?
|
| |
skrillex?
|
| |
Well, on the progressive note, they've announced they will be " integrating natural, acoustic instruments like accordion, mandolin, dulcimer, harp, tympani and bells to their trademark slashing electric guitars, strings, churning synths and pummeling drums."
What this means, I have no idea. But for the first time since Comatose I'm actually interested in their music, so I guess that's a good sign of sorts.
|
| |
Comatose and Collide are fucking awesome, however, I'm not looking forward to this new single at all. The anti-bullying shit needs to stop, and it doesn't work in song form. It didn't work when Rise Against did it, it didn't work when Shinedown did it, it didn't work when Billy Talent did it, and it certainly won't work for Skillet.
|
| |
I thought it worked for Rise Against and Billy Talent.
|
| |
But Skillet has Jesus on their side!
|
| |
Agreed, I thought Billy Talent did a great thing with it. They donated $1 to kid's help phone for every time the music video was aired. And that was back when Much Music was really popular (not sure if it got much air time outside of Canada though). I have absolutely no problem with bands taking a stand against anti-bullying.

I wouldn't put much stock in how they describe the album considering this is what they said about Awake:
"Classic rock riffs, swirling drums, monstrous hooks, and undeniably catchy choruses... hints of old school progressive rock mixed in with modern alternative flourishes... touches of classical influence as swelling strings intersect with sonic adrenaline rushes."
|
| |
Technically that's what Comatose was, and A&A was just a bastardized rehashing of that album.

that's hilarious.
|
| |
All the prog epics on Awake must've been cut right before release.
|
| |
Yeah the full song is up now.
|
| |
I feel as though John Cooper is intentionally trying to kill his voice. His voice is clearly weaker and yet he continues to insist on screaming when he sings.
