|Baroness lose drummer & bassist|

In the wake of their tour bus crash in Bath, UK, last year Allen Blickle and Matt Maggioni have parted ways with the band. While no specifics were given in a statement by guitarist and singer John Baizley, it would seem that the injuries they sustained in the accident have forced them to end their time with the band.
This is the full statement by John from baronessmusic.com
"Nothing can truly prepare you for a brush with death. The event is unique one, singular to the observer. Trust me, you don’t want to invite the experience. Our bus accident left indelible marks, external and internal, physical and mental, you name it. Each of the nine of us went through and continues to go through an entirely different, yet common experience. We are tied to each other by a trauma, which, despite its damage, has been made individually easier through our shared ordeal. While I would never wish the incident on anyone, I cannot imagine going through that wreck alone.
Thankfully, injury was not dealt out evenly; unfortunately it was dealt in great supply. Each of the nine of us now finds our self in a drastically different circumstance, and we each move forward accordingly. There are two important things to note. First, we are all healthy. We are recovering at different rates, and we’ll all be fine in the end. Second, Baroness has made a commitment to pick up where we left off, and get back out on tour, where we belong. In fact, I am personally staking my recovery on this principle; it gives me direction and something to look forward to (finally).
However, for some of us, the accident necessitated a change that would prevent them from performing music or touring. It is with sadness that we must announce that Matt Maggioni and Allen Blickle will not continue touring with Baroness. The details of their departure are not sensational; they do not come with hard feelings. Nor are the details going to be public; suffice it to say we’d like to keep to ourselves the finer points of this situation, to respect the privacy of all involved. While the nine of us must respect the significance of the bus accident in Bath, we must also move away from it and get back to our lives. Simply put, some of the effects and injuries were severe enough to prohibit further activity in Baroness. While we would never have asked them to leave; we have the utmost sympathy for this situation, and in earnest, we wish Matt and Allen the best in the future. In their stead, we have found two musicians who can approach our music with passion and vitality and help get us back out on tour to finish what was seemingly cut short last August.
‘til the wheels fall off,

Fuck that's sad...
I posted this earlier today...
Dear mods who didn't approve my news item,
Suck the dangle-berries off my ass-hairs, you worthless fecal vacuums.

Losing the dummer... Now that's a bummer !
fracturing your spine usually is yeah...
Digging: Troldhaugen - Obzkure Anekdotez For Maniakal Massez
Wow, that sucks. All the best to all involved in the wreck for their futures.
Nothing like a good typo in the title. The story really is a bummer, though. I actually saw these guys perform a month or so before the accident.
It sucks, but could've been much much worse, they all could have very easily died. I'm just hoping John and Peter harness the billions of tonnes of feelings they must've endured through all this and come back strong.
You're a dummer.
where's the typo?
oh shit dummer lol
But they didn't tell us who they'd be replaced with. :-[

fuck! that sucks!
I really liked the drum work that Bickle provided.... hope they can get a really good drummer like him.
here's hoping this band bounces back with a vengeance
Digging: Pallbearer - Foundations of Burden
saw the headline and thought they "lost" the drummer and bassist as in they died or something. glad that isn't the case, sucks that they're no longer in the band though.
damn this is sad

it wasn't that bad pots and you know it
that was just like, an expression, man. i'm not trying to speak for you
thats a lot of hate. not gonna try to persuade you, obviously. its a good album though
love this band but yellow and green was a letdown
He's just having a difficult time digesting the majesty of that album. Give him a few more years and he'll see the light. Or give him self an aneurysm. Whichever comes first.
these dudes supported Decapitated right before yellow and green hit. bet those fans were sayin wtf
its been a long time coming.
Yellow and Green was not a bad album, but it was not that great either.... none of the songs had that "classic" Baroness punch (Red is just amazing because of that, it can be spacey, but without losing the agressive shit)
this sucks. i kinda forgot about that bus crash too. i didn't realize how big of a deal it was
yellow n green sukd
Good job I don't care for the band :]

Sucks that they lost the drummer, dont give a fuck about the bassist though. Now their next album will be even shittier
Digging: Mr. Bungle - California
This is really, really fucked up
they actually left the band because yellow and green was fucking garbage
well drum and bass shouldn't be in metal anyway amirite
Even though their music does fuck all to me, I totally respect this type of decision.

"well drum and bass shouldn't be in metal anyway amirite"
You suck on chodes... all day long.
this sucks for sure,
I don't agree about leaving a band because of a car crash (because reading that gave me the feeling it was the reason). There's probably more to it obviously, but that's a little weak tbh, you sustain an injury and then that's it...you're done with everything. Pack it all up, I don't wanna do this anymore? C'mon, the best musicians have taken a personal travesty, worked through it, and were better for it because the music on the other side of the tragedy was their best yet (ex. Deftones). So forgive me for being an insensitive prick, but fucking grow a pair!
Gonna go study now...

lol i kinda had the suspicion he was joking, but decided to label him a chode gobbler anyways.
lol i got it, like D'n'B
I GOT IT
o u already explained, now i look dumb
haha i don't think you did oltna.... buddy....
i ahhhh...... initially didn't.
You don't suck chodes, you suck regular sized phalluses.
guys im not even that stupid, not eeeven
well my excuse is that i didn't even read the word drum in his comment, thought he just said bass isn't supposed to be in metal. damn eyes....
Digging: This Will Destroy You - Another Language
considering the injuries they sustained (both suffered fractured vertebrae) i'd expect that they just can't physcially play anymore, not that they're too traumatised.
Ahhhhh JS19, Phalluses or Phalli? i think in future im going to use Phalli (sounds neater) buuuuut technically they're both correct.
It doesn't have to be either physical injury or trauma, what about personal relationships/issues. The way the statement reads, i.e. "a brush with death", seems to imply that some of the bands priorities changed after the incident.
yeah true, and he says "Simply put, some of the effects and injuries were severe enough to prohibit further activity in Baroness." which quite obiviously puts it down to both types of things...
very true. I'd slay you in a thumb war btw.
you probably would i'm shit at them
is that due to years of torture in thumbcrushing devices? because those things are brutal
yeah it was the worst medieval experience holiday ever
the bassist was nothing special but the drummer was pretty good, thats too bad. though if they keep going the way of yellow and green it wont really matter anyways.
pretty sure they will, unless Baizley has acquired enough rage from this event to write another hard hitter... but i doubt it.
they never hit that hard to begin with. new direction is good
Both of those statements are true. The old direction was also good.
There goes their DNB
too late smoking....too late
Damn, that shiz must of been scary as
