Queensryche Drama Continues

Geoff Tate's version of Queensryche will be releasing their new album, Frequency Unknown, on April 23 through Cleopatra Records. In an obvious shot at his ex band mates, the album cover contains a prominently placed 'F' and 'U' on the knuckles of a fist.

In other news, Glen Drover (ex-Megadeth) has announced that he will be playing 'Take Hold of the Flame' with the "REAL" Queensryche in Toronto (the one NOT featuing Geoff Tate).

For those that are unaware, Glen was originally supposed to be a part of Geoff Tate's new Queensryche, but backed out before ever playing a single show with the band. At the time he had stated, "I was very excited about doing this gig initially, but learned in the past week or so that it's in my best interest not to do this right now."

Glen Drover's Tweet:

Queensryche's upcoming album will be released on June 11 through Century Media and is currently untitled.

I am wondering if Drover is doing the thing with Queens as a one time thing, given the fact that he lives in Toronto.

As for the art of the other Queens I probably wouldn't have noticed the FU shot unless you pointed it out haha.

It is a one-time thing. The 'real' Queensryche has a full line-up. They probably wouldn't ditch their other guitarist unless Chris Degarmo came back.

It's so obvious... or maybe it's just me ;)

FU is an acronym for the name of the album (Frequency Unknown); so I'm not sure it's really supposed to be a "fuck you" to his former mates. Although Tate is a faggot like that, so I could see him doing it.

It's a bit like the Cold War, where there's not really a lot of direct physical contact or communication between the two bands. Everything is a bit subtle and hidden between the lines.

I kinda like it.

According to Sputnik they sucked even with Tate, so I'm not expecting any new brilliance in songwriting by the "real" band simply due to the replacement of their vocalist, nor am I expecting anything exceptional out of the ex-vox's ragtag cover ensamble.

Bit of a fascist mentality there. As long as they have fans, they will sell shows, merch, albums etc. When the fans move on, they too will have to move on.

Exactly. From a purely buisiness standpoint, the market will decide when it's time for them to quit.
