In a news release today, the members of California rock band Stone Temple Pilots have reportedly terminated lead vocalist Scott Weiland from the group.
According to Scott, he did not know of his firing until he heard it in the news. Scott will be hitting the road with his solo effort (Weiland and the Wildabouts) for their 'Purple at the Core' Tour.
johnny craig's role model.

tough titties for that guy.
Does this mean I can start preparing for the STP lead singer tryouts?
schuylar croom from he is legend should tryout.
well weiland kind of makes STP what it is so...without him i don't really see why the band should go on.
again?..... I'm sure that in one month they will disband.

I'm not even sure how or why they've been going on this long in the first place. They may have been popular, but they weren't, like, legendarily good. They haven't released anything good for over a decade, or had any hits like they had in the 90's. The reunion thing was a pretty cool thing, but I say it's time for them to hang up their hats and move on.

Eh this band hasn't been good since the 90's anyways. Probably.

Only to reform again in 12months with Weiland who will be sacked 6months afterwards.

This group was good, but is one of the less spectacular groups of the grunge era. I like a part of their material but they have some weak points.
Didn't even know they had been together...oh well
Band should just stop

Weiland is irreplaceable, without him they should probably change the name of the band. Looks like their comeback was fairly short-lived then. Shame.
STP without Scott? Band should quit
for the love of god I hope this doesn't mean more velvet revolver.
contraband was such a meh album
I'd prefer Velvet Revolver over STP attempting to be relevant

it's just bad.
eddie vedder should try out
meh. not surprised
"contraband was such a meh album"
Baah I disagree, that album rock n rolled man

There will never be another Velvet Revolver. Apparently, the Roses boys can't stand Weiland.
seems to be a reoccurring theme.
Didn't even know this band was still alive

Well, glad I got to see them 2 years ago while he was fucked up on something or just plain drunk.

ye he's a fuckup

They sorta bombed their last chance with the last album. Oh well, I saw them live, and it was good, but it's all over now.
I guess Kurt Travis will just fill in now

I always confuse these guys with that other band whose vocalist tried to rape a one year old and distributed animal porn
you confuse these guys with lostprophets huh
haha i saw someone wearing a lostprophets wrist band yesterday
They should ask Dustin Kensrue to replace him for a tour that will put some of you on that bandwagon I'm sure.
He was doing a solo tour where he just played hit songs from the other band he was still in?
Fred Durst was wrong.
"Scott Weiland, the melody man. if you can't sing it then nobody can".
Rock Star: STP coming out soon now
Purple was their only album that was good all across the board. Band should have broken up in like 1997.

Andcas, if Weiland was fired for drugs I highly doubt Croom would make a good replacement
I thought this already happened.
how do you know croom is on drugs?
HIL is from my home town. i've talked to him on the street a couple times. been pretty fucked up every time i've seen him.
