2013-02-27 by ll.ogan | 49 Replies | 5097 Views

In a news release today, the members of California rock band Stone Temple Pilots have reportedly terminated lead vocalist Scott Weiland from the group.

According to Scott, he did not know of his firing until he heard it in the news. Scott will be hitting the road with his solo effort (Weiland and the Wildabouts) for their 'Purple at the Core' Tour.

I'm not even sure how or why they've been going on this long in the first place. They may have been popular, but they weren't, like, legendarily good. They haven't released anything good for over a decade, or had any hits like they had in the 90's. The reunion thing was a pretty cool thing, but I say it's time for them to hang up their hats and move on.

This group was good, but is one of the less spectacular groups of the grunge era. I like a part of their material but they have some weak points.

Weiland is irreplaceable, without him they should probably change the name of the band. Looks like their comeback was fairly short-lived then. Shame.
