As much as I admire their work, this is gonna suck. Plus they're like 65 years old.

I have a feeling that title may be an ironic joke at themselves. Will likely be 3 - 3.5 max, but I'll still check it.

In all honesty it would be worse if they named it In Rock or Fireball at this point of their career. They're a bunch of old dudes who are having a good time by making music which it's fine by me. Their last album "Rapture of the Deep" was great by the way.

"RIP Jon. Deep Purple was Ritchie and Jon"

really mostly ritchie though. i think i can safely say that i have heard more deep purple than anyone on this site, as my dad plays them on the drums incessantly, mainly their 90's-present stuff, though. like many bands who lose their key member, i find it a joke that they still call themselves deep purple, but that's aside the point. ian gillan, in his late 60's, is frankly annoying to listen to, and although steve morse is a technical wizard, he couldn't write a song to save his life. "sometimes i feel like screaming" is okay, though, but that was off their first morse album from like 17 years ago at this point. everything on bananas and rapture of the deep is trash and the news that they're putting out another album for my dad to torture me with pains me.

honestly, i want people on this site to know how shitty this band's new material is. listen to "house of pain" off bananas for example, shit's unbearable.

I realized I could appreciate Deep Purple without Ritchie Blackmore (RIP the Great Tommy Bolin), but not without Jon Lord. Sorry, guys. Call the band something else. It won't be Deep Purple.
