Count Your Blessings was a guilty pleasure of a deathcore album. After that, I thought that Suicide Season was the worst these guys could get. I completely skipped There is a Hell after the first few songs released off it, and by the look of it they've continued to prove me wrong. So dumbed down from what they used to be, which wasn't much. The shitty quality of the lyrics is the only constant.

Went in expecting to completely hate it, but it's actually not completely horrible. I mean, I don't like it personally, but objectively speaking it's much better than your typical blessthefall, We Came as Romans whatevercore. This band is still given waaaaaaay too much praise, but whatever 3/5.

I mean sure, they've added a few bells and whistles to their soundscapes, i'll give you that; but take that away everything's the same. The same repeated song structure.. same lazy guitar work.. no interesting time signature change ups.. no tempo changes. etc etc. The way they've masked said blandness is clever enough for the kids to think they've magically developed some unbelievable emotional depth, but it's really not all that impressive.

songs on that album that you would never guess were them.
they've sacrificed a lot of their "scene" chug/breakdown
elements for a more melodic and ambient feel. not to mention
oli has really stepped up his game as a vocalist and I'm
surprised at how good his cleans go over with the refined
musicianship. but you're entitled to your opinion my friend.

Oh, I forgot to mention that; Oli completely stepped it up in the vocal department. What's left of his harsh vocals really do a good job of conveying emotion. Even his cleans are good; so kudos to them for that.

But yeah, i'm gonna hafta 100% disagree on everything else you said, guy. lol. But hey, you're entitled to yours too, guy.
