I thought this day would never come... especially since it took them 4 years to record 8 songs last time.

misleading headline made me think they'd announced something concrete like a release date or something and I came just a little damn

Kind of misleading article title. I clicked it thinking "Holy shit! what a wonderful surprise! A new Radiohead album!" then read the article which basically just says in a few months they will start the process of recording a new album. Which is still good news, but was a bit of a letdown.

If it comes in early 2014 then it will be a relatively short gap between albums for them. Regardless, I'm just glad that they are still going to continue as a band
|
| |
Yeah I'm not a slave to this site and don't rate every single band sorry. Thanks for undigging those horrible groups though. They were quite shameful.

Sweet, maybe they should learn from what went wrong on King of Limbs and this time they can record an album, and then a bunch of B-sides, and then release THEM instead.

|

Yessssssssssssss
|

If they can't go through the process of creating an entire album anymore like they mentioned in an interview, it should take them another 5 years to create 30 minutes of music. Still, The King Of Limbs is one of their records that I enjoy most.

I will never understand the crazy love for Radiohead, I've listened to their albums and they have some stunning songs for a casual listen but I just don't get it... To me Thom Yorke's collabs with UNKLE and Burial/Four Tet are far better than any Radiohead release.
I am also aware that I may not have a soul.
|
| |
TKOL was fucking great, what are you people on?
Digging: Queens of the Stone Age - ...Like Clockwork
|

"New Radiohead Album" is kinda sorta a little bit misleading.. Lol
|
| |
But i'm stoked nonetheless
|
| |
Yea, I wasn't sure how else to word it to be more specific.
|
| |
I've never listened to radiohead and I don't plan to anytime soon, either.
|
| |
Thanks for sharing, Zibel.

Ya no worries.. didn't mean to sound like a prick about it Lol

what Strider said.
earliest we'll see this album is 2014 if we're lucky. if radiohead really focus...
|
| |
I expect junz.
but seriously, hope it's better than TKOL. Just had no staying power for me.

stoked tho
|

"Go back to Reddit."
except that i've never been there even once, so don't be a dick.
|
| |
I know it's pretty far in the future, but with Radiohead's infamously unpredictable behavior, I'm just glad there's some assurance that they'll be staying around for at least another album and tour.
|
| |
hoping for another tour as well
|
| |
good news, yes.
|
| |
Has anyone in here tried to buy RH tickets before? I swear every show they do scalpers buy up all the tickets in like 1 minute and the only way to get them is total rape prices. Hopefully they use a new method of releasing tickets...
|
| |
Holy shit yes. I was praying they'd get in a new album before 2015.. or ever.
Fuck yeah super excited!
|
| |
And seriously, what's with the tkol hate? Album was great. Especially the from the basement version--was actually better then the studio version
|
| |
I saw them during the tkol tour and it really gave me a new appreciation for the album. Same with the live from the basement versions.
ckunke: I didn't buy them off of Dead Air Space so I can't help you there, unfortunately. But yea, props to anyone who has been able to get one off there when they've gone on sale.
|
| |
hey guys, ZilbelPing's stupid because he's never listened to the radheadz
|
| |
no reason to get excited: this article just says that they're intending to get back together at the end of the summer. recording won't start til Jan. 2014 at the earliest, and the production of this LP will take a long time. I'd be surprised if we saw this come out before 2015. Either way, I hope I can finally catch them live when they tour it.
|
| |
Hell yeah. I was just wondering the other day when this might come.
|
| |
well on the bright side, Hawthorne Heights are coming out with a new album this summer.
|
| |
Actually, the article said they are planning to start work on their ninth album in September. Will they really be in the studio for 4 months before even recording?
|
| |
well on the bright side, Hawthorne Heights are coming out with a new album this summer.
lmfao
|

Tentative, I'd say.

I'm not even finished hating king of limbs

We've been quite spoiled by their "announce the album a week before it comes out" thing, haven't we : /?
|

guys come on KoL was decent
|

eh who cares The National are going to have a new album this year, mark my words.
Digging: The National - Trouble Will Find Me

I just want a tour tbh. Would settle for for an Atoms for Peace tour this year...
|

I'm a diehard radiohead fan and I respect the shit out of this opinion :p. who needs souls anyways.

I haven't TKOL yet, but I'm going assume it's not that great.
|
| |
It depends what you're into. I'm a self-proclaimed hardcore Radiohead fan who loved OK Computer and Kid A, but I also like that they've changed and progressed their sound over the years. If you don't like that they've changed so much since OK Computer then you probably won't appreciate TKOL

Radiohead, you gave my love for music, with your pentatonic licks, with your innovative use of pitch harmonics; with your percussion that can't be topped from a technical or creative standpoint; with your beautiful, yet down-to-earth melodies; with your awe-inspiring use of samples and an undebatable sense of atmosphere. Even the bass had an inspiring role. Everything was right in it's place. That's why you were so indisputably good.
You were here when music needed you the most.
Now music has been going downhill for a while: there isn't bands like Radiohead anymore. It's no 90s, that's for sure. We can always look back to what was great, but without future, what are we?
Please, don't let down on us now, 'cause we need you almost as much as in the height of your fame and glory. I know you won't, after all all you do is gold.
