Manchester Orchestra lose bassist 2013-02-11 by Kris! | 38 Replies | 2585 Views |
Manchester Orchestra have announced that they've amicably parted ways with longtime
bassist Jonathan Corley. Corley had been bassist for the band since their inception, 9
years ago.
From Manchester Orchestra's Facebook:
Quote:
Another time for change has come in the life of Manchester Orchestra. Our dear
friend and bassist Jonathan Corley has made the decision to part ways with the band and
pursue another career outside of playing music. This was a very obviously a very difficult
decision but J is our eternal brother and we wish him the absolute best. There is no doubt
that he will find success in any area he pursues. He will remain a part of the Manchester
Orchestra family forever and there is no way we can thank him enough for the time he has
spent with us over the last 9 years.
Please see below for a message from J.
MO
"After much thought and consideration, I've made the decision to end my career with
Manchester Orchestra. The past nine years have been an incredible journey and this was
absolutely one of the most difficult decisions I've made. I am very proud of what we
accomplished together and cannot wait to see where the band goes from here. I'm grateful
for the opportunities I've had to work and tour with a wide range of talented and
supportive people and I will carry these experiences with me for the rest of my life. I
would sincerely like to thank all of the fans, friends, family, and bands that have
offered overwhelming support throughout the years. I am very excited to begin the next
chapter of life. Thank you for the wonderful years and experiences."

Well I mean yeah it's there, but it wasn't the main draw, like enough for me to say "omg dat bass" or
anything. even if it was prominent like in the intro of Virgin, it wasn't like "damn listen to the
bass go"
|

Virgin is awesome cos of the bass

shit band

Damn, looks like Andy Hull is now the only original member... The band started as a 3 piece and the first drummer left like a year or two ago. The other guitarist and keyboardist joined the band a little later so that would make Andy Hull the only one who's been in the band the whole time.

Pretentious band sucks.
|
| |
They make indie rock songs... far from pretentious.
|
| |
Shame. Hopefully they find a good replacement.

Started to forget about these guys, pretty sad news. I'll have to give their albums a spin again soon, I want Andy Hulls babies!
|
| |
Theyre working on a new album. Andy Hull described the songs as fresh and angry or something to the effect. He did use the word angry though and my favorite song of theirs is Shake It Out, so I'm pumped for sure
|
| |
honestly as long as they don't "lose" Andy Hull I really don't care
and he's a big boy, they'll be able to keep one eye on him I'm sure

Nope. No bass at all.
|

The guitarist is gonna go "bla bla buh dum bla brr brr" into the mic in a deep voice. Should suffice
