After many months of speculation, rumors, and leaks, Fall Out Boy finally announced they were coming off indefinite hiatus.
The band also confirmed the release of their 6th LP Save Rock & Roll to be released May 7th in the United States via Island Def Jam Records. Produced by Butch Walker who produced Infinity On High in 2007. This is the first new material since 5th Release Folie A Deux in December 2008.
To promote the new album, the lead single "My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)" was released today on iTunes.
In addition the group is also touring throughout North America in the Spring. Tickets will go on sale February 8th or 9th dependent on the day. Dates can be found on falloutboyrock.com.
new song is pretty lame.
Digging: Waxahatchee - American Weekend
yeah the new song isnt good but im stoked for the tour.
new song isnt terrible but eh

"Save Rock & Roll"
Digging: Flying Lotus - Ideas drafts loops
wait nvm nope its bad wtf happened to the pop punx
andcas gon be pissed.
nah. I'm just gonna see them play their good shit live.
Music fans everywhere confirm they don't give a shit
Digging: Burial - Rival Dealer
I used to like these guys, still kinda do. I really don't care if they reunite, though. Cool, but I won't be picking up their new album or anything.
Digging: Ceremony - Ruined
New song was awful, and I love Fall Out Boy...
I don't like them at all, but I thought the song was extremely catchy.
Digging: Everything In Slow Motion - Phoenix
"Save Rock & Roll"
lol reminds me of that Defend Pop Punk thing a few years back.
you're too sweet potsy.
FOB wasn't bad when I saw them live with Blink, even if Pete just hardcore screamed some vocal parts to be hxc, but that new song... What drove them to release that piece of shit?
Digging: Neil Davidge - Halo 4 Original Soundtrack
They actually are coming nearby on their tour, but it's during Rock on the Range and I already have a ticket to that.
happy to hear this
Gon' be aw'sum'.
I like Fall Out Boy, this makes me happy. Didn't like newest song but I have hope they can recreate Infinity on High magic with this new release.
new song isn't great but hopefully they'll use it as some kind of intro song to the album. Looking forward to it regardless.
Best news all year, not huge on the new song but i'm just excited that they're together again
Calls an album "Save Rock and Roll
Releases an old song, except butchered and Pop.
seriously this version is so much better:
Demo is a million times better, new single hints that they're becoming like Maroon 5, less of a 5 piece band and more or less a singer with over-production.
I also don't like how they're burning all their old albums as to signify "oh you liked us like this, well fuck that and too bad."
they did what
the photo is on their website.
it seems stupid considering their old songs 'rock' more than this one
I mentioned that I didn't enjoy the song/it was FoB in name and lyrics only on the reddit thread for the single.
Digging: Marilyn Manson - Born Villain
so down with the single, but i hope the album sounds more folie a deux tho
Song isn't awful but if you aren't already stoked on this reunion, it won't change your mind.
Album will probably be on par with Folie if not worse.
Digging: Their / They're / There - Analog Weekend
Of course the demo is better, it was obviously from the TTTYG-era, when they still had talent
Why does anybody like this band?
cos there are faggots in the world
not that theres anything wrong with that ofc
Digging: Stereolab - Transient Random-Noise Bursts with Announcements
Nope nothing wrong with that
Patrick Stump needs cash.
Digging: Mansions - Doom Loop
In 1953, near the St. Francis River, I heard a voice saying "Oh Qua Tan Zin Wan. Qua Umsa. Lagee Wan."
One of the worst insutls against rock music has return, worse than ever. Embrace yourselves faggots, the massive onslaught of Fall Out Cunts fanboys is coming.
Besides they should be confined in the jail of a communist country for the title of the LP
Shit band and shit single
Digging: Zao - The Funeral of God
Entire album is being produced by Butch Walker and single is co written by him.
Shit band and shit single
Damnit, they're back...
Digging: Neat Beats - Cosmic Surgery
never liked the band. only liked some of the song titles
Digging: Lights Out Asia - Hy-Brasil
Shit band and shit single
Yeah they have always been painfully mediocre.
ain't nothing mediocre about stumps pipes.
Song kicks ass.
what the fuck happened to that career solo thing that was actually kind of cool
Digging: Childish Gambino - Because The Internet

I like their older material, but that new song was awful. I'm hoping the fact that it says 2chainz edition means it's a remix or something.
No, it means that 2 Chainz is in the video. He's not in the song.
I don't understand why people aren't digging this stuff, song is one of the coolest things they've released I feel. But I also think Folie is their best album by miles, despite having been a fan since they dropped TTTYG, so I guess I'm in the minority. Super hyped for this either way though.
Good band, alright song.
this makes me happy
Digging: Gentle Giant - Three Friends
Horrible, kill them with fire. Well if the guitar player and the drummer start again to make projects with scoot ian, Josh Newton and earth crisis.
honestly, i can't stop listening to this damn single.
Patrick sounds great
So yeah that new song fucking sucked.
this sounds like Stump's solo work
and I actually liked his solo work. I'm enjoying this in spite of all the cheese.
Digging: Captain, We're Sinking - The Future Is Cancelled
the whole album better not sound like this shit.
i'm guessing you didn't like his solo album then
new song is pretty lame.
i dig it, fuck all you kitties
