R&B performer Drake, formerly known as Wheelchair Jimmy, has released a new single entitled "Started From the Bottom", because irony is in right now. The song will serve as the first single for his upcoming, currently untitled third album, and was originally planned for release on the night of the 55th Grammy Awards. It has been preemptively released on Drake's personal BlogSpot, along with a statement.
You can view the blog post and listen to the song at:
lol nice write up
Digging: Indigo - Storm
on the fence about this but my feelings are pretty much exactly the same as when i first listened to "headlines" and i love that song now so
this was really bad.
Digging: Ghoul Abdul - Surface Breaks
Jesus Christ that was awful
Digging: Current 93 - All the Pretty Little Horses
Digging: Self Defense Family - Try Me
Digging: Ludovico Einaudi - In a Time Lapse
Wow, I usually find reasons to keep listening to my favorite artist. Drake was my favorite hip hop artist 3 years ago, even Take Care was pretty good. This is just utter shit. Sorry Drake but may or may not even check out the album.
Misread this as "new nick drake song" wishful thinking i guess
Digging: Rx Bandits - Mandala
^would have been one hell of a day maker.
By himself Drake is great, but I'm so fucking tired of his features... Now, if I'm to believe the comments, he's getting shitty all around. Disappointing...

I bet most of the people who say this song sucks now, will like it shortly.
this is really good
Drake, just bring back the xx influenced music you did with Take Care that was some of the best rap I'd heard in a long time; this just sounds like a bad A$AP Rocky song.
Drake, just bring back The Weeknd influenced music you did with Take Care
not feeling it, hate how often the chorus line is repeated (it reminds me of why i hate nicki minaj she does that too)
Sucks soooooo much.........
This started from the bottom of the barrel and it will be in the bottom of the barrel for a long time.
The whack flow totally makes sense when you imagine him heading into the studio after an hour-long clambake. He's definitely not himself on this
I really like it. A real bold move to make this the first single, but it rules so whatever
Repetitive as fuck, but not a bad song.

Digging: Waxahatchee - American Weekend
it's not bad at all, but it's not fantastic. he always had an ear for production though.
I like Drake, but this song is just bad.
Actually the beat is pretty sick, his flow is wack though.
Does it sound like his other 600 songs?
no its quite different actually, sounds like it would be terrible on first listen but its kinda growing on me. weird.
I've never been a fan of his at all so I'm hesitant to even pause Botch for this.
no, never pause Botch. Wait til thats done, then maybe give it a listen.
Well the beat is good, I have to give him credit for that, but drake ruins everything.
Beat was good, but Drake fucking sucks on this.. Why does he need to repeat the same line over and over again.. The "mainstream" syndrome..
i wish drake would try to build off his sound on take care. that album is awesome but this songs kinda boring...will still listen a few times though
Loved Take Care, but this was bad.
Drake needs to drop the rapping and just stick with producing beats, he's got a real ear for them but his flow and lyrics have, and will always be, shit.
Drake's lyrics and autotune are painful, worse than a torture made by Vaas Montenegro and Hoyt Volker.
decent party rap maybe
Still not sure where you're hearing the auto tune bro
i know drake laid off the autotune after so far gone for hsi two studio albums but (and i have to listen to it again) this did sound sorta autotuned iirc
not like i care
"Started from the bottom"
I feel lied to
everyone keeps saying that but isn't it obvious he's talking about his musical career?
ie started from the bottom (rapping on other peoples beats for free) now we here (#1 singles with rihanna)
it's pretty weak compared to anything on Take Care
