New Ash Borer and Fell Voices
2013-01-21 by Niels | 38 Replies | 1277 Views

During their joint European tour in March and April, US black metal acts Ash Borer and Fell Voices will both be releasing new material. It seems Fell Voices's Regnum Saturni and Ash Borer's new 12" called Bloodlands have both been captured live on tape.

Cold of Ages dropped only a few months back, but I have absolutely no problem with this.

Also, the article should be way more detailed: for starters, you should include the name of the Fell Voices LP (Regnum Saturni)

EDIT: whoops i'm stupid, it's there. my bad

the highlights for people too lazy to read the actual press release...

Fell Voices - Regnum Saturni
--gatefold 2LP w/laser etched d-side
--Regnum Saturni runs roughly 60 minutes in length and will be released to coincide with Fell Voices’ European tour alongside Ash Borer in March/April 2013. 1000 copies pressed, including a limited tour edition only available in Europe. Ordering information will be announced soon at www.gileadmedia.net and www.analogworship.com.

Ash Borer - Bloodlands
--The b-side track rages through its nearly 20-minute run time at a more mid-tempo pace
--The instrumentation on Bloodlands was recorded live and mixed down on 1/2″ tape, resulting in a more noticeably raw sound than was present on other more recent Ash Borer recordings.
--Bloodlands runs nearly 35 minutes in length and will be released to coincide with Ash Borer’s European tour alongside Fell Voices in March 2013. 1000 copies pressed, including a limited tour edition only available in Europe. Pre-orders will begin in February at www.gileadmedia.net and www.psychicviolencerecords.blogspot.com/

The guy at Gilead said that the Ash Borer EP is supposed to combine the raw recording style of their
older work with the precision of their new album, so I'm definitely stoked for it, especially since it
came out of nowhere.

The Fell Voices news is also great. I emailed them a while ago and they said that they had recorded
three tracks, so I'm assuming that we'll be warmly greeted by three 20-minute epics this time as
opposed to the standard two. Yays!

I don't get why sputnik seems to collectively hate Wattain. They're basic super-serious second-wave Swedish BM, nothing too spectacular or distasteful there.

"I really hope you're being sarcastic because I was"

No, I wasn't.

As far as that style of BM, they are it. They know right where to stay in order to keep their fan base and attract new listeners, avoiding crossing that thin line that would certainly catapult them into super gayness. They are real.
