"Sunburnt is the 1st of the last 2 singles Underoath released last year after announcing their indefinite hiatus."
Didn't they broke up?
| |
Wish they played this song when I saw them last week. UnSound was great live, though.
| |
I love the song. Interesting video.
| |
are they ever gonna break up? they keep releasing shit.
| |
Pretty sure they filmed (or started) this video before or right after announcing their break up.
| |
half of this was used in the backsplash video during the farewell tour, which practically just began, so id assume that's correct. cool video, awesome song.
| |
Sweet video, makes me appreciate the song a bit more. Still, it just makes me wish Underoath weren't breaking up, maybe someday they'll get back together.
| |
One of them did an interview and it seemed pretty up in the air about the future of the band because they would be interested in doing a short run in warped tour or something but they didn't want to play old songs. They also said they would love to record a new album but they wouldn't be able to tour it.
| |
I'm upset they didn't do a new album even though they could have, the only reason they didn't was because they wouldn't be able to tour for it because not all the members would have had time to.
| |
I'd LOVE if they recorded a new album. I'm sure they have tons of material, and I'd buy it in a heartbeat if it sounds anything like this and Unsound. Still hoping out on a reunion tour someday because I would have totally followed them around for the farewell tour, but alas, not enough money. Still, they put on an amazing show at Irving Plaza last week.
| |
Great video/song.
| |
Yeah they did have most of the material for it, they even said they were at their highest creative peak as a band. They said it would have been their BEST ALBUM!!!!
| |
They're just not as good without Aaron. I don't miss his voice but the songwriting is different.
| |
But Spec, Disambiguation was so good!
| |
Video is a great accompaniment for the song.
| |
underoath post-gillespie is great but they could have had more mileage probably if they had just changed their name. then they wouldn't have to play old songs
| |
Amazing song! I would also enjoy a new album, as Disambiguation was their best and I feel like these new songs are just as good if not better than anything on that album.
| |
Great video and song.

Liked the video editing. Good song

DRIP DRIP
| |
band died a long time ago
| |
Without Aaron they were just pretending to be Underoath
Imagine Streetlight Manifesto without Tomas I mean come on
| |
Yeah but their last album was boring as fuck bland metalcore
| |
How can a band with no original members even be a band my word
| |
Disambiguation was definitely missing the energy.
| |
Chill out dude jesus christ
| |
That they suck without Aaron?
I'm pretty sure that's just my opinion and can't be asanine, cuz they do suck now
| |
You people need to get your head out of your ass, if you think Disambiguation was generic then you don't know how to smoke crack properly. Underoath is perfectly fine without that redheaded goon.
| |
I'm surrounded by metalcore kids help me
| |
feels bad getting picked on by skinny kids in tight jeans eh
| |
I was just joking about Aaron but Spencer held his own amazingly on Disambiguation
| |
"They're just not as good without Aaron. I don't miss his voice but the songwriting is different. "
Disagree hard, Disambiguation was incredible.
| |
Their newest releases show that Aaron was entirely superfluous.
| |
Yeah Disambiguation had such awesome experimental parts. Driftwood sounds like a song off Kid A and Who Will Guard The Guardian reminds me of Welcome To The Machine, the album showed what Underoath were truly capable of.
| |
Personally, I didn't really like disambiguation, but i loved the two new songs. If there were more songs to come like that, i'd be totally down for it.
well if they were to do that, then why didnt the band change its name when a lot of the other members from the very old underoath left but didnt change the name? what im saying is they not only really love the older songs, but it would be pointless to change the name, the other members put their work into this band too, its not all about aaron for fucks sake.
Did you miss this: "One of them did an interview and it seemed pretty up in the air about the future of the band because they would be interested in doing a short run in warped tour or something but they didn't want to play old songs."
And no, it's not all about Aaron, but I find it weird when bands don't have ANY original members, yet use the same name.
| |
There was never any reason to change their name, the only time it would have made sense was when they changed their sound after TOCS, but it's a great name so why change it.
| |
Tim did backing vocals on Disambiguation I'm pretty sure. And yeah if you think that album was generic metalcore... hahahahahahaha
| |
DtGL is still their best. I'd like another album, and honestly if what the previous posts said are true then it will probably get made at some point.
| |
chorus kinda reminds me of circa survives new album. weird.
| |
Surprised it's not a bunch of live clips put together.
| |
How can a band with no original members even be a band my word
The original members weren't very original either, hence their legacy as boring christian metalcore.
| |
they would break up when they were finally getting good.
this is what bring me the horizon wishes they sounded like
| |
They've been good for 3 albums, and BmTH doesn't go for this kind of sound at all so that's a silly comparison.
| |
In my eyes there's Dallas underoath and Spencer underoath. I prefer spencer
| |
Spencer is seriously an amazing vocalist
| |
this thread is making my palm penetrate through my actual face
| |
"chorus kinda reminds me of circa survives new album. weird."
I said that myself when I first heard this song, it does have a Circa feel to it.
| |
Man, what a note to leave on.
So impressive. They will forever be my all-time favorite band.
| |
sweet video, songs is excellent as well
| |
cries of the past was their peak new shit rules too tho
| |
weve been through this b4 dude u admitted u were wrong nd were going to drop it reemember
| |
My friend Craig told me Cries Of The Past was black metal when I was 16, and how it was their best album, now I remember why he failed 12th grade.
| |
12th grade is wrong weve been through this b4 dude u admited uwerewrong nd were going to drop itremember
| |
lol, I'm pissed I never gave COTP a good listen though, it's not on my computer anymore but it definitely isn't black metal. It ain't better than Disambig, LITSOS, or Define, ain't happenin.
| |
bettr thna anything botch released tho for sure
| |
if u hate riffs nd true prog
| |
My friend Craig told me Cries Of The Past was black metal when I was 16, and how it was their best album, now I remember why he failed 12th grade.
This post honestly redeemed this thread from being terrible LOL
| |
mxtabs humor
| |
like that they incorporated elements from all their past music videos in it
| |
You can say that Underoath had no original members left, but you'd be pretty stupid to count out Christopher Dudley. He's been around since Cries of the Past. Act of Depression was initially released on an extremely small scale and they had barely started writing songs at that point. Chris came in immediately when they started writing COTP.
So yeah, there may not have been any members that were around since AOD, but Dudley should still be considered when talking about "original members." It seems disrespectful not to think of him as one, considering he was around for every progression of sound they went through.
| |
howd we forget dudley
| |
He actually does a lot for the band, electronically, Andcas.
Most, if not all of UØ's ambient electronic bits were created by him. He was a huge part of the band. And have you seen him live? He brings so much energy to the stage.
| |
"You can say that Underoath had no original members left, but you'd be pretty stupid to count out Christopher Dudley."
no i wouldn't, he wasn't on their first album so he's not an original member. it's pretty straightforward.
| |
" It seems disrespectful not to think of him as one"
this makes little to no sense. saying he's not an original member is not a qualitative judgement, it's simply a fact that should carry no positive or negative connotations.
| |
no i wouldn't, he wasn't on their first album so he's not an original member. it's pretty straightforward.
Eh, pre/post-Spencer are such different sounds. But that's an entirely different argument so whateva.
he's just not that utilized on their albums imo.
Eh, respectfully disagree. It's definitely there. It may not be as apparent as the guitars/drums/vocals, but he's basically responsible for the whole ambient element of UØ. Plus he programs so yeah. Re: outro of A Moment Suspended in Time; The Created Void; Young and Aspiring etc, etc.
| |
that was a damn good song. cool video too.
| |
Awesome. Definitely going out with a bang.
| |
They had this on big screen for their farewell tour, was pretty sick. Their last album was kinda underrated imo shame they wont make more tunes.
| |
Dudley did alot on Disambiguation but that's about it.
| |
He added a lot of the ambience in LITSOS/DTGL too.
