Goo Goo Dolls New Single 2013-01-20 by ZackSh33 | 44 Replies | 2153 Views |
The Goo Goo Dolls, perhaps best known for their string of hits in the 90s and early 00s
which included (but is certainly not limited to) "Name," "Slide," "Here is Gone," "Better
Days," and "Iris" have released a new single called "Rebel Beat."
The song is the first single from their first studio album in three years, which is
tentatively titled "Magnetic," and is set to be released this spring.
You can listen to "Rebel Beat" here:

I remember I loved their song Big Machine when I was younger. It took forever to find a working mp3 on Kazaa...

They were great back in the day, but this is bland.

Haste the Day did one of their songs. I've kinda got a soft spot for the guy's voice.
Digging: The Dillinger Escape Plan - One of Us Is the Killer
|
| |
Yeah Long Way Down, which they actually nailed.
|
| |
No. This is NO.
|
| |
They were really good up until about '06. They're last album was weak, and this just sounds too much
like OneRepublic. @bloc Big Machine is my jam.
|
| |
Generic band is generic.
|
| |
Yeah Big Machine was my jam in high school
Digging: Electric Wizard - Come My Fanatics...
|

Rzeznik was doing the hair swoop before it was cool.
Soft spot for these guys. Some great songs in the 90's, some great ones in the 2000's. Came from my hometown.
|
| |
I enjoyed these guys a lot when I was younger. Kind of lost interest in them after Gutterflower.
Digging: The Computers - Love Triangles Hate Squares

Very impartial to this band
Digging: The Boxer Rebellion - Promises

the link doesnt work?
Copy and paste the URL from the article. The "https" screws it up if you try clicking it.

The song started off okay. But that chorus is pretty bad.

CRAP. :
Digging: Steven Wilson - The Raven That Refused to Sing
|
| |
Never cared too much about those guys, Iris was an enjoyable song despite of being overplayed in the radio and MTV.
|
| |
A Boy Named Goo and Dizzy Up The Girl were great albums. Back when there was such a thing as good radio rock.
Those days are long, long gone. Now these guys make soft rock for 43 year-old donut-chomping divorced women.
|
| |
this band used to be great
Digging: Milk Music - Cruise Your Illusion
|
| |
Awh shit. Used to love these guys. :[
|
| |
so why won't you slide.
Digging: My Morning Jacket - Z
|
| |
wow they sound like the new matchbox twenty.
|
| |
if ever there was a band to get less hyped about...
Digging: The National - Trouble Will Find Me
|
| |
The lyrics are typical goo goo dolls, but everything else... just no
|
| |
Wow, they went downhill. The verse melodies are fine, but I hate the way it's processed and the little hints of attempts to be "relevant" in the music... And that chorus is just bad.
|
| |
R.I.P.
Dizzy Up The Girl was awesome. Iris and Slide are two of my favorite songs.
Digging: Daft Punk - Random Access Memories
|
| |
The people that only listen to the radio will enjoy this.
|
| |
it's like every great radio alt-rock band in the 90s and early 00s devolved into generic dreck that
sounds exactly like this song.
|
| |
lol this band? goo goo dolls have had an amazing career in rock. They've been around since i can remember hearing "name" on the radio. Kudos!
|
| |
The song had grown on me a lot since I first heard it. Not as good as their other stuff, and over produced (blame the four producers who worked on it, for that...) but I quite like it. It's great to see acoustic, and I bet it'll be tons of fun on tour.
