Three Days Grace Singer Leaves 2013-01-09 by Alex Carlson | 72 Replies | 4894 Views |
Three Days Grace frontman Adam Gontier has officially resigned from the band and been replaced by My Darkest Days singer Matt Walst, brother of Three Days Grace bassist Brad Walst. Gontier cited his reason for leaving as a health issue, though specific medical details have yet to surface. This news appears weeks before their co-headlining tour with Shinedown which begins in Moline, Illinois on February 1. Walst will perform as frontman of Three Days Grace for the tour.
The news also follows the departure of My Darkest Days’ guitarist Sal Costa, leaving the band’s immediate future in question.
Three Days Grace has posted Walst renditions of Three Days Grace songs on the band’s Soundcloud, threedaysgraceofficial, including the track “Chalk Outline” and the band’s most recent single from their Transit of Venus album, “The High Road.”

whoa this is surprising... Too bad Three Days Grace sucks lol
|
| |
Idk, I kind of liked him. He sounds exactly the same, even less exciting on the later releases. Regardless, the last two albums they put out sucked so I don't really care what they do now
|
| |
can't even pretend to care about this band

I'm sure they will be able to find another mediocre singer
|

Don't really care. Not surprised that Adam's body is fucked up either.

new singer sounds decent

band should just break up

Reminds me of the singer of Anberlin more so than the old singer, this is kind of promising, even though it is Three Days Grace and I wouldn't listen to them on my own time either way.

UH OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

sucks
he's actually a pretty interesting vocalist voice-wise so maybe he'll join a band that doesn't suck and put out something good

I like his voice too. Some of the songs off One-X are still nice once in a while.

This fucking sucks their first 2 albums ruled hard. He had an interesting voice. I hope he does well in the future.

I hope he joins Theory of a Nickelcreed

I actually thought his voice was one of the few redeeming qualities of this band.
|

How is this even news haha
|

I associate this band with Smackdown vs. Raw '06, so really, no shit given at all.

That version of Riot sounds like such shit compared to the original.

So now they'll be even more like Nickelback. Shame, he could pull off his voice pretty well live
But lets face it, 3dg wasnt going anywhere with him

yeah Riot is awful now, it was one of their better songs too
|
| |
he could pull off his voice pretty well live
Explain to me how that works
|
| |
I think what I mean is that on their records it always seemed like he had a ton of studio effects on his voice but he was always spot on live. It impressed me when I was younger
|
| |
And wow Chalk Outline is terrible with the new guy
|
| |
This is one band I couldnt care less about.

I'd be cool if he joined a better band but eh.

I imagined that was what you meant but yeah I get you now.
Anyway I just heard that re-recorded 'Riot' song
That was painful. That original song was decent

Good I hate this dude's voice!
|
| |
I actually kind've like his voice a lot. He should join a different band once his medical problems get fixed.
Old songs sound horrible with new singer.
|
| |
The new singer doesn't sound much different, not quite as good (and although I don't much like the band I've always enjoyed the voice)
|
| |
burn and born like this are decent songs
Digging: Hum - Downward Is Heavenward

That song he did with Apocalyptica was absolute dickshit
|
| |
Maybe he left cause he realized the band was holding back musically and had no good ideas. He was great when I saw him live and if you check out his cover of Rooster live (it should be on Youtube), he's talented enough to do his own work.
|
| |
one-x is a fantastic album, but that is pretty much it
|
| |
This sucks, Adam is actually a very good live performer. This new singer is good, but the re-recorded songs are not that great.
|
| |
Looks like... it's all over.

Meh, they're an average band anyway. His voice was what saved them, so I guess they're fucked now. lol

It was interesting news, but I kinda stopped caring for the band about 7 years ago. I think they released a song in 2009 that was kinda cool, but it got old after a few listens.
Their new singer will be fine for the tour. Curious as to who they get to replace the vocalist though. Also, best of luck to him (with his health problems).
|
| |
Riot sucked before and it sucks even more now. New guy is trying too hard. Band was alright before. Everything I heard off of ToV though was bad, so probably won't even notice the new singer.
|
| |
Band is shit [3]
|
| |
Three Days Grace's first two albums were great and the vocalist was a large reason why. Hearing this
new guy really highlights how powerful Adam's voice is. Can't say I cared about the band since One-X,
and judging by this article, I never will.

OK, from what I read, My Darkest Days is pretty much Nickelback. Great, now this band is ruined forever.
|
| |
i hear he was tired of having to sell.

Anyone who said he did not care about the band, if you dont care why do you eve wirte here?!
