Deep Purple announce new album 2013-01-08 by Voivod STAFF | 34 Replies | 1839 Views |
One of the most acclaimed British rock bands out there, Deep Purple have announced the release of a new album in April 2013. This is their first full length record since 2005 and the release of Rapture Of The Deep.
Last December, Ian Gillan had commented on the work done for the new record, saying "The title of our new album is still a question mark to all of us... We have recorded a new album, and it's a fantastic collection of songs. At the moment that's the only affirmative point we can offer...".
The new songs were recorded in Nashville, Texas by acclaimed producer Bob Ezrin (Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper) and they are believed to be a return to form for the band, complemented by a modern sound production. Furthermore, the band's label, earMUSIC/Edel, has created a special website (see second link below), where information about the new album will be gradually revealed, whereas band members will be able to issue posts and interact with the fans.

In the YouTube the following is written:
The album is rumored to be the perfect match from the original spirit of 70s Purple,
As I didn't want to plagiarize, I wrote "return to form".

Get In Rock, Machine Head and the live album Made In Japan first.

Ok cool thank you

'Bananas' and 'Rapture of the Deep' were really good LPs, so if the upcoming album is as good as
those, I'm happy.

Might be good. I don't know if I want to listen to it if there's no Jon Lord, though.

Abandon was the last album with Lord on keyboards and it sucked. The last two albums with Don Airey were quite descent though.
