Album's gonna be epic.

it'll be interesting to see if they top It Never Ends

I think There is a Hell clearly saw Oli/the rest of the band getting their shit together and focusing on their music, studio and performance wise.
Well at least as focused as they can get while still playing generic metalcore
|
| |
looks like oli is a Metal Gear fan. pretty dope.
|
| |
last band I thought wouldn't settle with staying the same.
|
| |
If they have songs like Blessed with a Curse and Crucify Me on this upcoming album I'm gonna be fucking happy. Shadow of Moses sounds so promising.
|
| |
Just went back to There is a hell... forgot how many songs I really liked off of it..
Crucify Me, Fuck, It Never Ends, Dont Go, Fox and the Wolf,
Blacklist was great too
The other's were bad/okay to good
|

In two albums they will sound just like Underoath!

as long as it doesnt sound like the debut, this band will do fine.

Also, I found this tracklist online. I'm sure it's fake, due to there not being a 'Shadow Moses', plus 'Sempiternal' and 'We're Going Nowhere' being two additional & separate tracks. Still, thought it might be interesting.
1. Interlude
2. Four
3. Eyes Ahead of Lives
4. Trinity
5. Sempiternal
6. We’re Going Nowhere
7. Close to Death
8. Myths
9. The Labyrinth

They need to go more into that ambient / electronic / post rock tinge that they were starting to grasp.
|

Holy dick, this sounds dope. I've never really got into BMTH, but I dig the melodic screams/semi-cleans in this. Sounds like it will be much better studio too.

he sounds so much better live now than he used to. it's mind blowing
bet this album rules. if it's at ALL better than there is a hell, it will be great because that album was great

Is ok, not my cup of tea but is a solid song

when did it become cool to like BMTH?
aside from that song isnt bad but is basically somewhere between of mice & men and underoath

fuckthatnoise is greentexting on sputnik and still thinks he's superior to everyone else hahahahahaha

I still would like to see them do away with breakdowns entirely.

breakdown on blacklist is good though

This is pretty good. Since Jona joined the band, they're not complete dogshit.
How does the crowd even know the lyrics?

The crowd doesn't

my saying you have one life, why spend it hateing people.
i have enough reason to hate some people. they know who they are. but nope, i rather spend life with laughs and happyness ;)
|
| |
this band is homo yea
|
| |
well today was an amazing day. walk all the way to dalton, no sleep at all, talk to her. honestly not sure if it helped, made things worst, or keep it the same. honestly not worried about it. about got arrest for sticking up for dustin. he did get arrest. this wasnt his fault!! hahah cop got made when i started agureing and start to win, so he drove off XD what a fat loser :P
|
| |
It sounds better, but it's still just that same breakdown/verse/chorus style metalcore. So unless the rest of their stuff is more complicated and has actual post-rock sections, probably won't be my cup of tea.

Visions is a reeeeaally good song. Never really cared for anything else from them except for Chelsea Smile

|

Count Your Blessings was the worst deathcore I've ever heard.
|
| |
Count your Blessings was typical deathcore, which in itself is already a shitty genre. Suicide Season was their typical breakdown filled metalcore album. There Is A Hell... is showing BMTH starting to unlock their potential, and now this new album is probably going to be really damn good.
|

fuck yeah. if this album's at least as good as there is a hell, i'll be extremely happy. the metal gear reference in the song title is cool, too.

The band is maturing and thus so is their music.
|
| |
"it was shitty overproduced deathcore with horrible lyrics."
ahahahahahahaha
idk which is funnier, calling that album overproduced, or complaining about deathcore lyrics
|
| |
it never suited the band and they weren't good at it.
|
| |
You know, you could just say you're not into it.
|
| |
idk which is funnier, calling that album overproduced, or complaining about deathcore lyrics
I don't know what's funnier, the fact that you have Emmure as your avatar, or that you're saying that shitty deathcore BMTH is better than metalcore with tinges of post rock and electronica BMTH
|
| |
Count Your Blessings has really cool guitar parts and some of the best vocals in the genre.
Suicide Season is awful. Their last album was cool, the samples I've heard of the new album are awful. Emmure is dope.
Count Your Blessings is a really good At The Gates rip-off album, fun drinking music, relax.
|
| |
Lol at Emmure been dope, but ya sorry about being a bit stressed. Being trying to get rid of this
stupid cough for about 2 weeks now. I haven't been able to practice my unclean vocals for weeks now
and it's pissing me off.
|
| |
Emmure is so dope bro, I'll pray to Thanos 4 u.
Also, if the lyrics on Count Your Blessings are so bad, why does the album open with "She starts her new diet of liquor and dick"?
|
| |
"some of the best vocals in the genre"
you mean completely layered and altered.
|
| |
There's obvious layering, but most vocalists use at least two tracks on recordings, as for altered, I don't buy that shit, considering Oli sounded identical live back in the day, and the past two times I saw them.
|
| |
But Oli used to be terrible live.
|
| |
Seriously Andcas why are you acting like I'm some ignorant kiddy? you know me dawg.
|
| |
well enjoy cyb because they're never going back and I'm glad.
|
| |
"But Oli used to be terrible live. "
I've always heard that, but I've never seen him do a poor performance.
|
| |
I saw them once, I believe it was during their Suicide Season album promotion tour. Not really sure, he kept running out of breath and sounded like he was using the wrong technique.
From the Shadow Moses performance it seems as though he's improved monstrously.
|
| |
probably not partying as hard and learned how to actually use his
voice in a way that suits his capability.
|
| |
Vocal style changed any bit? No audio here.
|
| |
not bad, hopefully an actual recording for it will be out.
and MGS ftw.

"i thought this band was universally hated on sput?"
they were till their last album which was a pretty big progression for them
|
| |
Weird.
I didn't find There is a Hell.. All that astonishing. I mean sure, it was a different direction, but mediocre is mediocre. I guess it's a step up from your typical metalcore band on like, RISE or something but they're really not all that mind-boggling.

Sound of a band maturing, it works for them. Looking forward to this

"Weird.

was that a response to me, or like a general response to the thread? If it was in response to me, you twisted my words into something I didn't even say.
|
| |
This album will be incredible if all the songs are of this standard or higher.
|
| |
As much as I liked Count Your Blessings back in the day (they're one of the bands that got me into heavier music) i'm really glad they're maturing the way they are. Seems like they've also gotten better live. Can't wait to hear it
|
| |
17 year old girls with dyed black hair everywhere are pumped.
|

Count Your Blessings was a mess of an album.
|

Oh no, just a general response to the consensus the thread seemed to be creating.
No offense intended, Ms. Parks; you did good work.

1. Major improvement
2. Metal Gear reference
3. Because BMTH

looks fun as fuck to be there
|
| |
they're not as bad as people make them out to be and at least they're attempting to improve. I like the new direction they're heading in.
|
| |
Well no, they're not bad by any means; just beyond over-hyped.
|
| |
hyped by what? usually its hate. if that's hype.
|
| |
Not on this thread, apparently.
meh.
|
| |
Jrmy, if you see how their original fans took to "There Is A Hell..." You'll understand what andcas is saying about hate hype.
There Is A Hell >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Suicide Season = Count Your Blessings
|
| |
I suppose.
I honestly preferred Suicide Season though, but not because 'omg they sold out wtf this is so gay lol', but because it seems like with There is a Hell... they just jumped on the bandwagon using the same techniques most of the bands use nowadays.. vocal chopping.. synthetic orchestral backgrounds.. Oli's vox seeming far less br00tal.. It's just at least with Suicide Season it didn't sound like they were being trendy.
This coming from a person who actually really enjoys a few tracks off There is a Hell.
|
| |
crucify me is an amazing song.

Just posting his Twitter account cos his tweets have been removed a couple of times already and he's re-posted it: https://twitter.com/olobersyko
|
| |
It's actually pretty decent, surprisingly.
I'm listening to it now, and it's really smooth. Not bad for a first attempt at an ambient electronic sound. I mean yeah, there's a ton of room for improvement, but it's an attempt at doing something not necessarily in line with the trends of the day, so I approve. 3.2 / 5
|

Just posting his Twitter account cos his tweets have been removed a couple of times already and he's re-posted it: https://twitter.com/olobersyko

Yeah that's a shame, guess you had to be quick. I've got it now, haven't listened yet. Also not sure if I'm allowed to post the rapidshare link as it does seem Oli posted this without permission and that's why the tweets are gone. At the same time though it's his music.

I didn't realise daniel p carter had an afternoon show, or did it change? I used to listen to his midnight show a while back
|

Changed for a week dude
|

New song we're going nowhere is awesome!!
|
| |
Was the New Music Takeover Week. Last few days 1pm-4pm (UK time) Daniel P Carter's been given free reign. Led to Sepultura, Meshuggah, Slayer etc. all getting daytime airplay on BBC Radio One. Was fantastic.
|
| |
I heard the entire album on YouTube last night and as BMTH being my favorite band, I will go ahead and admitt, the album is absolutely terrible. They have forgotten all their roots and have became a boy band. Not one single high or low scream. And for some reason everyone loves this new album? Probably because it is nothing close to metal and people unfortuanlty dont like metal.
