Hatebreed new album details 2012-11-11 by Voivod STAFF | 33 Replies | 1810 Views |
Hatebreed are going to release their new album titled The Divinity of Purpose on the 29th day of January through Nuclear Blast Records.
The album was co-produced by the band and the collaboration of Chris Harris (Suicide Silence, Shadows Fall) and Josh Wilbur (Lamb Of God, Avenged Sevenfold), with Wilbur covering the mixing process as well.
The album art is presented in the source link below.
According to Jamey Jasta:
We experimented a lot on our last record. However, the release of our new album coincides with our 10th anniversary from the release of the "Perseverance" album and the return of guitarist Wayne Lozinak within the band's ranks. In that light, emphasis has been given to the old school elements that made Hatebreed what they are. I detect a lot of influences and inspiration from bands such Cro–Mags, Killing Time, Sheer Terror, Obituary, Bolt Thrower, Slayer, Entombed in the new album. This is really fun for us, because we are paying tribute to our favorite bands by filtering their legacy through our own sound.

Obituary, Bolt Thrower, Slayer, Entombed
I've never really listened to this band so I don't know if it's funny or totally m/ that these guys are influenced by Bolt Thrower.

their first record is pretty great for it's style/era, Perseverance is pretty ok too.
their other stuff ranges from passable to awful. I'll still probably give this a brief listen to see if it's worth working out to though (it's probably not).

True. Perseverance and Rise of Brutality in an every-once-in-a-while sort of way are good. Their last few releases have done nothing but suck cock though.
