I heard the substance and aggression in the music on the first three listens but the next day is when everything settles inside my head and becomes really enjoyable.

I honestly think every Deftones album has had some sort of slow-burn effect on me until it eventually becomes one of my favorites.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Diamond Eyes. It's easily one of my favorite albums, but I agree with Youtellme, some of the songs are forgettable until you really get to know the album. Just wait a couple weeks, this will be everyone's favorite. (It still doesn't touch White Pony though.)

I listened to this three times and really have no strong desire to listen to it again. I'm realizing how much more I like their older albums now though, so it's fun rediscovering stuff like Saturday Night Wrist.
