Daryl Palumbo's New Project
2012-11-04 by Narwhale | 53 Replies | 2203 Views

Daryl Palumbo from Glassjaw and Richard Penzone, formerly of Men, Women, and Children have started a new band called Color Film.

Color Film will release their first album "Living Arrangements" in 2013. The first song from this project, "Bad Saint" is included in the link below. The sound resembles 80's music such as Duran Duran and Tears For Fears.

it's not bad, but I want more Glassjaw. And while he had minimal involvement, more United Nations would be rad.

I don't know what to think of this. If this is one of those perfect resting spots in otherwise perfect albums then I'd be fine with this. However, if this is all the album is going to be, then I'm not looking forward to it.

Damn, Daryl's vocals work insanely well on the track, and it definitely captures that Tears for Fears vibe. Not sure I'm down for a whole album of this stuff though. I mean I'd dig it for sure, but if it's all like this then the man has plenty of other stuff that is more deserving of his attention.

Their entire first live set is up on YouTube somewhere, and after seeing it, I wouldn't be so ready to dismiss an entire album of this. There's a lot of variation in the songs. Some are like "Bad Saint" and some are fast and jammy. There's also a really sick bass riff in one song.

I think it's safe to say the narwhale is very excited for this album. I'm expecting good things.

But still, where the fuck is Glassjaw?

all the united nations stuff that is ever gonna happen is already recorded and divvied up. it's just sitting around until they actually release it.

What? That's fucking dumb kinda. So does problems with labels stop them from releasing it? It would be amazing of he did record with them and whatnot

they already have labels lined up. Geoff addressed the whole thing in an interview a couple years ago. it's basically one more full length, and 2 more eps. everything was recorded from the same sessions back in 08.

Glassjaw is one of my favorite bands, and its funny that they only have 2 albums. I bet a new one would sound really great with even better production than W&T. It makes me kinda sad that he's ignoring glassjaw.

I don't get it. Just release one fucking full length, and everybody will be happy. No more EP cock tease bullshit. God damn I actually like this song but I feel like praising anything Daryl puts out that's not glassjaw related just gets him side-tracked

I wish I could find the interview but Geoff explained that Geoff contributed a few riffs here and there but he really didn't have as huge an impact on UN as Geoff and Ben Koller did. New UN is on the way though. I just wish that "United Nations Play Pretty For A Bunch Of Fucking Babies" didn't get deleted.
