Future Idiots Take On Blink-182
2012-10-28 by Andrew Caswell | 94 Replies | 3402 Views

Hässleholm, Sweden pop punk band Future Idiots are sure to
create some controversy with their new album Neighborhoods
and Morningwoods
which is a personal cover of Blink-182's
latest offering that puts a different spin to every single song.

The relatively unknown group are aiming to give the release
what they see as a more suitable throwback to their idols old
school style. The statement from the members in the link below explains their motivation.

So far this has been received with extremely mixed emotions from Blink-182 diehards and
there's no official word yet on what Mark, Tom, and Travis think concerning the whole move.

Wow their version of Up All Night 1 is awesome

Most of them seem like tinkering for the sake of tinkering...Up All Night was pretty awesome, but so
far the rest are either too similar to make much of a difference, or they just changed things for the
sake of changing em and it ended up making the song not as good. Ghost on the Dance Floor lacks
keyboards now, Natives is slightly slower, Heart's All Gone lost all the technical drum playing and
opted for plain fast punk playing. It's not bad but I much prefer Neighborhoods (because I actually
really liked that album)

sounds more pop punk but still far removed from blink's older material musically anyways (which is what i was more concerned about), so to me at least it just sounds like a bunch of vanilla pop punk covers of someone else's album which i don't find terribly impressive.

not really a fan, but i can't say the covers are bad. more differences without taking out important elements in the original versions would make them so much better, though.

there's a lot of self-importance in their statement and I feel it's in
poor taste. who are they to tell a band how they should sound and
frankly they need to let go of the past. the songs are alright but
the fact they're charging money for it is fucking lame.

they practically stole their entire album, made it worse and then wanna charge full price for it, and that's even besides how they're only trying to one-up them and mooch off their success while they're at it. they claim it's just a homage but i gotta call total bs on that lol

All songs except for maybe 1 are better than the originals.
