Woah I can't believe they released a song that sounds exactly like American Idiot.
What a tweeest
just stop now
Digging: Emperor - In the Nightside Eclipse
"aged punk rock band"
Whilst pretty meh, and a ripoff of past works, this beats their other singles easily
Digging: Naked City - Radio
Songs pretty good, not original but not terrible so I guess thats a plus.
Last two songs they have released have pwned the first two songs
9/11 was bad.
this is how i rank their songs from this album
let yourself go > nuclear family > oh love > kill the dj
if by rather decent you mean really boring and not original in the slightest
but its ok
better than that one song i dont remmeber which but it sucked asshole
"this is how i rank their songs from this album
let yourself go > nuclear family > oh love > kill the dj"
yup, kill the dj is perhaps the worst thing this band has ever done
It's okay but the audio quality is horrendous
I'm really not getting good vibes from these new songs. =/
Maybe they'll all fit together on the album or maybe it's just not for me.
wtf is up with the sound quality? The song itself isn't all that bad though.
Digging: Ted Nugent - Shutup&jam!
Yeah. I think this one is one of the better ones.
I really didn't like 'Kill The DJ' at all. I couldn't listen to it. This one is okay though.
Kill The DJ was terrible.
Yeah, I agree. I don't know what they were thinking. Probably just not for me but man, it was so bad!
I dunno. I really, really, really, didn't like 'Kill The DJ'.
Anyone still optimistic for this? Band sucks. Has for a while
terrible song, the band cannot come up with anything interesting
the production is absolutely terrible wow
Reactions to new Green Day songs
1. Sounds too much like American Idiot
2. Doesn't sound like American Idiot enough
sounding like idiot is fine but this is a ripoff and is much much worse than idiot which was already pretty bad
Good, catchy song. No complaints here.
This and Let Yourself Go are solid. The other two are bad.
Fuck this band, and fuck billy joe. I would've loved to see them before they were shit. heard they had amazing shows.
Better than Kill the DJ, but that's not much of a complement.
I saw them on the final show of their AI tour...they even played Homecoming and I Fought the Law...get jelly.
Digging: Dot Hacker - How's Your Process? (Work)
I've been a GD fan for a while. This one beats the other singles, but they're all fairly mediocre. Let's face it, their last album was meh. American Idiot is fantastic, though. Has anyone made the joke about how "Kill the DJ" should be changed to "Kill the Green Day"? If not, I just did.
Digging: How to Dress Well - What Is This Heart?
Yikes...the song really is American Idiot 2!
Anyway, the video was pretty much there (though I was picturing a giant flag in the background that shot out orange slime this time instead of green).
Geez...maybe the times just aren't the same anymore, but Green Day's older albums used to be (and still are) fun to listen to! I even really enjoyed "American Idiot." Huh.
the song is okay. it's the best one so far from Uno.
Digging: Karma To Burn - Arch Stanton
They may not be making the same quality of music, but their concerts are still fantastic. They put forth much more energy than most bands (except maybe Hardcore Punk and Noise shows).
this is getting out of hand...
I'm not getting the hate for Kill the DJ. It could've been like a minute shorter, but other than that I thought it was a cool sound.
This wasn't too bad, either. Nothing new, like Let Yourself Go, but still preferable to Oh Love.
The very first preview videos way back made me excited Green Day was going in a new mature yet funky
direction. Now it seems they are just continuing on the same path, extending on 21st century breakdown,
maybe with a bit more of original Green Day.
every song on this album as well as the other 2 are going to be a single with a video.
Digging: Anberlin - Lowborn
wow this sucks too
His approach to writing new songs needs to change, everything I hear by these guys sounds pretty much the same. AND get a second guitarist, the songs get pretty boring.
Kill The DJ does have a cool sound, but the chorus takes up too much of the song. And since it's not a very good chorus, that doesn't help either.
Band needs to die already
Digging: Trophy Scars - Never Born, Never Dead
This band is bad and should suffer the fate of not being talked about anymore so everybody just ignore them.
Aged is subjective and they aren't punk. Weak writing.
Digging: Buckethead - Hold Me Forever
@ASnideRemark i just can't get over that avatar
Why is everyone rating so early on the album?
Ever heard of a joke mate?
I've heard of jokes, but I don't see what that has to do with anything in this article.
Green Day was never really punk but they were a band that made 105.9 the X enjoyable in the 90's.
Digging: Burrow - The Collapse of Time
The joke was that Green Day are old and way past their time since their recent music after American Idiot blew so hard and completely destroyed the feeling they created with AI. Also... Green Day is (or was) punk.
Then it wasn't a joke at all, but rather how you view the band. Which, frankly, is an inaccurate view at best. When these albums go multi platinum you can continue thinking they are 'past their time', but you would just have a skewed sense of the term. And again, 'old' is subjective. You must be too young to understand these things. Only really young people call people that aren't that old, 'old'.
Then again, I don't know why I read into what some kid posts as a news article on sputnik anyway.
"Then again, I don't know why I read into what some kid posts as a news article on sputnik anyway."
Assuming you're any better than him? right
