I've been listening to this for the last 3-4 days non-stop with the volume at 11/10 and it hasn't worn off by a single bit.

It is extremely catchy groove-ladden early '90s Euro death metal.

And that was just fucking boring. I appreciate capturing your roots but come on now, SDM has been done to death whether you're an old-timer or not.

I own too many albums like this to count. Why this is receiving the accolades that it is beats the shit out of me. I mean, good for them for sticking to their roots for 20 years but we only have enough room on this earth for so many Slayer's.

@ Wizard

This album is a grower, listen to it more times with headphones at maximum volume.

Indeed, the wheel is not reinvented in Endless Procession Of Souls, but I'm telling you it has that drive, that god damn drive that separates innovation lacking records to those with good replay value and those which wear off after 2-3 listening sessions. This comes from someone who is not such a big fan of early '90s death metal.

When I first listened to this, I thought that my initial excitement was going to fade with increasing listening sessions, but oddly enough it didn't.

no you don't get it, karl is done to death (literally) with swedeath and you will never convince him to not be (other than horrendous)

and karl, to be fair, these guys were one of the original swedish death bands, so can you really blame them for playing their style?

also, spanish graveyard and brutally deceased fucking rule...and they do the whole chainsaw riff thing to a t

How did you find it?

That's what I think too.

I don't want to sound blasphemous, but I find it to rival their first three albums as well.

Voivod,

Because it's you, I will give this another kick at the can. You should listen to bands like Funebrarum, Disma, or Horrendous to see where the Americans have taken the SDM sound. Or better yet, check out where Finland took death metal during the 90's.

Andy,

I know they've been around forever but they're still one of my least favourites from that era. Glad you remembered how bored I was with the scene hahahahaha.

Canada and the world should need more bands like Mitochondrion! Let the Swedish bands doing their own thing.

True to that as well. But let me just say this, I enjoy the US's version of SDM far more than anything that has ever crawled out of the scene.

I despise innovation in death metal, love catchy riffage and the classic Euro death metal sound so im sure ill dig this as much as their last one.

Canada has Conqueror and Blasphemy, game fucking over. Revenge too. Their true metal accolades speak for themselves.

True, this sucks less than Burial Ground, I'll give Grave this much credit. But that's about all there is to it, really. May whip up a review.
