Debut Autism album
2012-08-28 by tomhetas | 43 Comments
Lithuanian post-rock project Autism presented its debut demo album "Falling Motions" online today. The author, whose release is comprised of five songs, decided to simply give away the album to listeners:

"Physical albums and their sales rarely interest anyone today; therefore, the most logical solution was to simply give away my first album to anyone interested. In the end the majority of even the most ardent lovers of music listen to digital albums anyway, so 'Falling Motions' can be downloaded for free from the offical Bandcamp or Soudcloud profile
page."

"Falling Motions" is available for free download at bands bandcamp profile :

Support? It's free, bro, the guy clearly states he doesn't want to raise money for autism.

There's a band called Autistic Daughters, and their great, and I've never seen anyone really care too much about their name... Regardless, I like bands with kind of odd names, and I like post-rock, and free music. So, I shall check this out.

2.5 for me is really low, I don't dislike it so it's not below a 3

Music is pretty good, but there is no heart in it. It's all theory and no meaning. So in that way, the band name is suitable.

I think the name is in reference to how you have to be autistic to like post-rock.

Well, it was underwhelming. Technically, it's good. but otherwise, it's just like everything else I've heard in post-rock a billion and infinite times. Ugh, there's no inspiration in the genre anymore, kinda frustrating.

Post-rock has rarely ever been inspiring.

People tell me that Oceansize is post-rock. I don't think I even understand what the genre is anymore,
because they've got plenty of vocals. But if they're post-rock, that's about as much on the fringe as
I can stand....because Explosions in the Sky and Isis suck balls.

Yeah, it's like a general label nowadays that people just slap down on a band if they use more instrumentation than normal.
I'd say it was inspired back in the day it first started, you know, when Talk Talk, Tortoise, Slint, and GY!BE were going at it. But now it's just contrived, really.

And Isis are post-metal bro, get it right. Jk. A lot of people get up in a fit about that, though.
