Rise signs Woe, is Me #2?

2012-08-04 by simonpettersen | 58 Comments
Rise Records have signed the newly formed band called Issues. Issues consist out of harsh vocalist Michael Bohn, pianist Ben Forris, guitarist Cory Forris, clean vocalist Tyler Carter (all former members of Rise Records' Woe, is Me) as well as Case Snecdor, the drummer for Tyler Carter's solo project.

Wha? So, wait. The only difference is the drummer? Did he have rights to the band name or something?

Well they took the two best members of the original Woe is me so it should sound decent at least vocal wise.

Was always okay with the clean vocals, but the rest was terrible and it doesn't seem Issues will be any different.

I'm sorry man Woe, Is Me will always have a very important and special place in my heart. They are the band that got me into heavier music. And by heavier music I'm referring to metalcore, hardcore, post-hardcore those kinda things

Ah I see. My first segue into heavy was technically Linkin Park like right after Hybrid Theory came out because of the skramz. Then my first real fall into hardcore was probably Bury Your Dead lol I don't know I can't remember that far back

I'm actually pretty stoked for this! Tyler's a great vocalist, as well as Mike. They have the original guitar players back...which means their stuff will feature finger-tapping/harmonic leads, instead of the recent chug-chug/0-3-5 stuff Woe, is Me has put out.

From what I can tell, he's not bad at all. He's doing studio drums for a band in this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Qng0hz_e1s

Again, he's good...but his fills/play style seems pretty generic. But then again he was just doing studio drumming/not
involved in the writing process. I'm sure the new material from "Issues" is going to be awesome!
