The famous West Coast rapper that went by the name Snoop
Dogg will now be referred to as Snoop Lion. The veteran
artist attended a New York conference to confirm the switch
brought on by a spiritual Jamaican trip. It was in the middle
of this odd awakening that he merged with Bob Marley’s spirit
and became the reggae legend reincarnated. The mysterious
change transpired in a temple where an Ethiopian moniker,
Berhane, was given to him and means, “light of the world."
Snoop expressed, “I feel like I've always been Rastafarian,”
as one of Marley’s sons nodded at his decision to flee gangster culture. He eventually took a
break from sharing his tale of enlightenment to perform five new songs. ‘No Guns Allowed,’
a rally against violence, was among the material he displayed featuring his daughter singing
alongside him. It was later revealed a coffee table book and documentary about the rebirth
will follow the aptly branded, Reincarnated.
The upcoming album, produced by DJ Diplo, has yet to receive a fall release date but boasts
being family oriented. “As a 40-year-old man I've got to give them something,” Snoop urged,
“That's what you do when you're wise.” The sudden transition in demeanor supposedly comes
from the need to escape since rap isn’t a big challenge anymore. In light of Snoop’s random
endeavors, only time will tell how long until he returns to the genre that made this superstar.
