Ben Gibbard Solo Album 2012-07-19 by RQL3 | 14 Replies | 1590 Views |
Benjamin Gibbard, frontman for the critically acclaimed Death Cab For Cutie, is set to release his debut solo effort entitled, Former Lives. It will be released October 15 in the UK/Europe via City Slang and October 16 in North America via Barsuk. Ben wrote the 12 tracks over the course of eight years but didn't sit down to complete the album until he had moved from Seattle down to Los Angeles where he recorded at longtime pal Aaron Espinoza's (Earlimart) studio, The Ship. Stay tuned for Ben's touring plans following the release of the album.

It is weird I posted this but it doesn't show up anywhere on the site except for his page

I always forgot that Death Cab wasn't just him anyways

i know it sounds bad but i think he'll sound way better post-zooey. he's the kind of guy that just makes better music when he's unhappy.

I wonder how Adam feels about the fact that Ben Gibbard is no longer making love to a movie star.

Yeah it could suck but I'm looking forward to it

Well if it's songs that he's collected from past sessions (as the article says) it will definitely be mopey because it's music taken from those eras.
Excited for this. Ben said that is really doesn't sound like Death Cab at all.
