"yea...bands should always sound the same 18 years later!"

My point was that the quality of the music has degraded significantly. A really talented band can hold quality over the years without repeating the same sound over and over.

I really can't see what the main issue is. This sounds like it'll be quite a stellar album in my own opinion. Vocalist is aeons ahead of Lord Worm. Operating under the assumption that it's the same guy from their last album, which was terrible; WOW.

This sounds pretty good, good riffs and all but I'd prefer a different vocal style. I'll make my judgments when I hear the whole thing. I hope the album isn't just straight forward tech death blast chaos all the time.

I can name no other band that has such a disparagement in their LP catalogue ratings as Cryptopsy does with 'None So Vile' (4.4) and 'The Unspoken King' (1.6). The only band I can think of that gets close is Dredg.

Oh damn, that's just as bad!

And then there's Dredg, who, while not as extreme, managed to fall from grace in the mere nine years and three albums between 'El Cielo' (4.2) and 'Chuckles & Mr. Squeezy' (1.9).

They'll never come close to None So Vile, but from the trailer it's at least obvious that they're giving it their best shot without trying to play on nostalgia.
