Progressive/sludge metal outfit Baroness have put their upcoming double LP "Yellow and Green", set to be released July 17th, up for full streaming on the NPR website.
Oh lawdy, I've been looking forward to this.
Hopefully will be better than the pre-released songs were
Is it awesome?
Digging: Burzum - Sol Austan Mani Vestan
meh will listen eventually
sweet gonna listen, love full album streams
I thought it'd be awesome, but strangely I ended up with mixed-up feelings. Too many songs seem mundane, not very involving. Hopefully it'll grow on me.
Digging: Coliseum - Sister Faith
yellow was nothing special, Eula is the best song. starting with green now
I loved both Yellow and Green. Cocanium and Eula are probably my favorite tracks
Digging: GZA - Liquid Swords
Thought Green was better simply because it has a more progressive feel to it. Yellow is a little too straight forward at times
Digging: This Will Destroy You - Young Mountain
I actually prefer Yellow because it flows better and is easier to grasp.
Take My Bones Away is the worst song they've ever done.
Already have plans to listen to this with a friend later tonight, should be good from the snippets I've heard.
Digging: Richie Havens - Mixed Bag
You'll have a good time.
on their first 2 albums, it was easy to pick out my favorite tracks. this one, not so much. there's a number of songs that i love on both discs, but for entirely different reasons. if i had to narrow it down to 3 from each, i'd probably go with:
Yellow - Take My Bones Away, Cocainium, Back Where I Belong
Green - Board Up the House, Mtns, Foolsong
"Oh shit it leaked, better stream it"
Digging: Quasimoto - Yessir Whatever
Psalms Alive already underrated. For shame, my favorite song next to the great Eula
i feel like they've been on a steady decline since red
Digging: Twin Shadow - Confess
A noticeable one, yes. But Blue was still awesome.
Kinda dig this album(s). Not as easy to find memorable spots, but as a whole really damn good.
Digging: Queens of the Stone Age - ...Like Clockwork
wow this album blows. the best song is twinkler. which isnt even that good of a song
Wow you blow.
awesome album(s?) is awesome.
Really enjoying this. Seems to me a lot of people are hating on this just because they've decided to introduce hooks and (I think) better song structures. Guess that's the price of being too cool for school.
I'm about seven songs in and every single one is amazing so far. I liked a few songs from their first two albums, but this record is leaps and bounds ahead IMO. I'm not much of a metalhead though so their less metallic direction appeals to me.
and it's all in how you mix the two and it starts just where the light exists it's a feeling that you cannot miss and it burns a hole through everyone that feels it
well you're never gonna find it if you're looking for it won't come your way well you'll never find it if you're looking for it
should've done something but I've done it enough by the way your hands were shaking rather waste some time with you
Digging: Buckingham Nicks - Buckingham Nicks
dude damn some things dont even need to be said!
