US black metallers Abigail Williams have decided to call it quits after their last US tour is over. Dates are available on their Facebook page.
After much consideration we have decided to make these upcoming Abigail Williams shows our last US tour. This was a very hard decision to make but feels absolutely necessary at this point. I've had the best times of my life with this band and learned so much about what I want to do with music as well as what I don't like about the industry etc and we honestly feel like its best to put the band to rest after making what we feel to be our
very best album. Im honestly just feeling satisfied with everything we have done as Abigail Williams and I feel ready to put it to rest. We want everyone to know this has nothing to do with differences inside the band as we are still very much a family and these are still the same people I want to make music with now and in the future.
Oh no? Never listened or heard of them so idk how to feel.
Digging: L'Orange and Stik Figa - The City Under The City (Instrumental)
What a shame.
Digging: Waxahatchee - American Weekend
Pretty sure I only listened to Gallow Hill once a few years ago. Is anything else of theirs worth checking out, or?
Digging: Childish Gambino - Because The Internet
I've seen this band like 6 times. They are pretty bad.
yeah i saw them once and they sucked ass
Digging: Gas (Mat Jarvis) - Gas 0095
"this has nothing to do with differences inside the band as we are still very much a family and these are still the same people I want to make music with now and in the future."
um okay, then why even split up?
I only listened to the first album once and thought it was pretty good. Apparently the last two sucked though.
Digging: The Dillinger Escape Plan - One of Us Is the Killer
these dudes are pretty meh
The Brett Favre of faux black metal.
Their last album was a major step up so at least they went out on a (relatively) high note. Can't say I'm too shaken up over this, though.
I liked the last one a good amount. Can't say I'll really miss them all that much.
I just love their band name
The Crucible kicks ass
Digging: Kanye West - Yeezus
Isn't balcaen in this band?
Digging: Gucci Mane - World War 3, Vol. 1: Lean
The Legend EP was awesome. The rest wasn't my bag at all.
What? I thought this band broke up years ago???
Noctus got mad when he heard this hahaha. Jk you still rule buddy. I have a soft spot for In the Shadow of a Thousand Suns.
Digging: Demilich - Nespithe
These guys were mediocre at every trend they tried to hop on
did Abigail Williams split up with John Proctor perhaps?
Noctus got mad when he heard this hahaha.
pfft, i'm never mad :] i was pretty bummed since it was just as they were getting good but eh
Digging: Lethian Dreams - Season of Raven Words
They're going to make a new band with the same members
Digging: Weatherbox - American Art
Isn't balcaen in this band?
No but seriously that made me laugh
Digging: Bolt Thrower - ...For Victory
ive only heard mixed things about this band, maybe ill check some out.
too bad, their first album was alright tbh.
Digging: What Mad Universe - A Cosmic Chapter With Gaia
This sucks. They were progressively getting better. Wonder if any of them are going to form bands on their own?
We think that 2012 is the perfect year for new beginnings and we definitely plan to put music out later this year in the form of a new band(s)
Well i guess that solves that. Could be cool If i ever figure out what the new fucking band is going to be called.
Too bad, I liked them.
Their last two albums were pretty meh... the first three were decent.
They had some pretty good stuff. Guess well see where some of these guys go.
Bummer. They have some pretty good stuff.
Digging: Lance of Thrill - Thrill Snow
Woah, it seems like more people are saying they like their older stuff than newer stuff. The older stuff comes off like a bunch of br00tal kids trying to play symphonic black metal. the newer stuff seems more like WITTR or Agalloch...i'm surprised people don't like the newer stuff more
Kinda sucks, then again, i've only ever heard like 1 song from each album by these guys, so...
Pretty much everyone outside this thread liked their latest album the best.
Digging: Lake Of Blood - Omnipotens Tyrannus
They had albums after In the Shadow of A Thousand Suns?
Yay, maybe this'll give Ashley more time to work on another Orbs album
