Muse write song for Olympics
2012-06-27 by Jacob Royal STAFF | 125 Comments
Alternative rock group Muse have written a new song titled "Survival", a track which has been selected as the
official London 2012 Olympic Games song. Matthew Bellamy "wrote the song with the Olympics in mind. It's
about total conviction and pure determination to win."
"Survival" will be premiered on BBC Radio 1 at about 19:30 tonight (June 27), and will then be available for
purchase on both iTunes and Muse's official website.

Here's the band's official statement regarding the song's release:
http://muse.mu/news/article/785/muse-write-official-song-for-the-olympics/

And here's the song, in all its controversial splendor:

Riffs are boring, choirs are tacky, stringed sections are cheesy, pretty much the same drum beat throughout, lyrics are on par with something off a Nickelback record and Bellamy's voice is just about the worst part of this whole wreck of a song. Far away
This ship is taking me far away
Far away from the memories
Of the people who care if I live or die

Starlight
I will be chasing the starlight
Until the end of my life
I don't know if it's worth it anymore

Hold you in my arms
I just wanted to hold
You in my arms

My life
You electrify my life
Let's conspire to ignite
All the souls that would die just to feel alive

But I'll never let you go
If you promised not to fade away
Never fade away

Our hopes and expectations
Black holes and revelations
Our hopes and expectations

Hold you in my arms
