This song, oddly enough, made me even more excited for this album than "Around My Way." This one signals the true return of deep-think Lupe.
This was kinda meh, rapping was a bit awkward and the beat was just not up to the standards of the original F&L
"rapping was a bit awkward and the beat was just not up to the standards of the original F&L"
The flow was awkward, I agree, but considering the subject matter (and the punny title), I think the beat was purposely made that way. Still better than the beat for "Dumb It Down."
lol Dumb It Down had a horrible beat, so annoying
Not digging this

"Didn't this guy used to talk about never using the word bitch in a song? Maybe it's satire, but if not, maaan rappers are all so dumb."
It's satire. He's denouncing the use of the word bitch (and specifically, popular rap's use of the word) in relation to women. Hence the last line, "Bitch bad; woman good; lady better; greatest, motherhood"
Didn't this guy used to talk about never using the word bitch in a song? Maybe it's satire, but if not, maaan rappers are all so dumb.
You didn't pay attention to what he said at all did you?
this is pretty awful. I understand that the beat is probably like that to kind of be satirical towards
typical "club" beats or something but this is just guhhh. His rapping and flow are meh and it feels
like he's trying to make up for shitty Lasers by being OH SO SUPER MEGA SOCIOPOLITICAL NOW and it
sounds so forced. like his messages used to be really nice but his last two songs have just been
pretty contrived, corny criticisms that everybody is already aware of, or just trying hard to be
next song he makes will probably be about SOPA or some lame shit just wait and see.
The flow at the beginning sounds really uncomfortable and awkward. Other than that it seems kind of lackluster. I guess some props are given for denouncing use of the word 'bitch', but having an entire song revolve around it seems weird

"it feels like he's trying to make up for shitty Lasers by being OH SO SUPER MEGA SOCIOPOLITICAL NOW"
Ahh...considering "Words I Never Said" is on 'Lasers', that's not the way Lupe would be trying to make up for it. It's pretty much how he's always been, really.
To me, this song seems like a spiritual sequel to "Hurt Me Soul" or "Dumb It Down" (bad beat and all for the latter one :-P)
oh you know what I mean, this is just feeling pretty forced by now.
fuck what happened to this guy
It's okay, but doesn't come close to the original F&L which actually sucks because that was the album that got me into rap and hip hop.
lupe's flow on this is pretty bad
Around My Way was great, this is just awkward.
First F&L was an immense album, hope this song ends up as an out take for F&L2.
One of the most forced hip-hop tracks I've heard this year. It's a shame because this guy is a really good MC
wow that hook is atrocious, not to mention bad flow, shit lyrics, and a mediocre beat. if you listen to what he's saying, he actually thinks he's being meaningful lmao
Why would you call yourself fiasco
honestly never been a fan of this guy and I'm glad, otherwise this song would piss me off if I was
Way to follow up a decent single and kill all the hype. Only you could, Lupe. Only you could.
I like the message in this but the song is ok
