New Kamelot Vocalist Announced 2012-06-22 by Niels | 22 Replies | 2027 Views |
Power metallers Kamelot announced their new vocalist on their website. Tommy Karevik will be
replacing Roy Khan, who left the band in April 2011.
The Swede is known primarily as singer in Seventh Wonder. On Facebook, Karevik assured his
fans that he will not be leaving his other band.
Kamelot's first album with their new singer is planned for a September 2012 release.

They made as good a choice as they could have. This guy has serious chops.
|
| |
That guy is solid! Although no one can replace Kahn, Karevik is a great choice.
|
| |
He's pretty good and won't make the band irrelevant like people have been saying.
|
| |
Wow, now this is an interesting choice.
|
| |
Let's hope this works!

A good replacement. Replacing a vocalist such as Roy Khan is a hard task anyway, so this is probably the best choice they could've made.
|
| |
They made an excellent choice by choosing Tommy, no offense to Fabio. Either way, Seventh Wonder will always be my favorite band :D
|
| |
He was probably chosen for his looks, but I will still listen to the new album.
|

Cool good news, I've never heard anything from Tommy before but I'll definitely look into this.
|
| |
I hope this works, He's very good but roy khan is roy khan.
|
| |
never got into this band.

'Roy's voice is part of what set Kamelot apart.'

I love you and miss you stokes
and there is no such thing as "time well spent on sputnik"

Oh fuck, my mistake, I should have read the description. tnks for pointing out.
|
| |
don't envy me
also, what is it with power metal vocalists and fucking dumb facial hair, like they are trying to be a trendy wizard or some shit
|

Really happy my expectations are confirmed. Khan is unique and hard to replace, but I think Karevik is among the best singers in power metal, right after him. He deserves the recognition.
Their styles are very different, though. I'm interested to hear how they handle that on the new album.
I hope it won't interfere with Seventh Wonder too much, though - I prefer them to Kamelot

"Sounds like your typical power metal/progressive metal singer. Sorry, but the unique sound of Roy's voice is part of what set
Kamelot apart"
That's right ! Sorry but I'm not impressed from the new vocalist either . He have good vocals but , nothing we weren't hear
before and even not half from Roy 's voice .
I hope at least the new album will be better than the lastest 2 album which were step down from " The black Halo" , Yet the
best album they have made so far .
