Scorpions work on old material 2012-06-14 by Voivod STAFF | 22 Replies | 1823 Views |
During an interview for the Arizona Republic site, Scorpions guitarist Mattias Jabs revealed that the band has entered the studio in order to work on unfinished material that originates itself from the era of critically acclaimed Scorpions albums, namely Black Out, Love At First Sting, Crazy World and Savage Amusement.
In his own words:
The first three months of this year, we took off to work in the studio, resurrecting unfinished songs from what some people say was our best time, leftovers from the albums "Blackout," "Love at First Sting," "Crazy World," "Savage Amusement," all the albums from the '80s and early '90s. There's so much strong material, but it hasn't ever been finished, especially the lyrics. They're like "Blah blah blah blah blah." It was recorded like you would record a demo, no click track, anything. But the vibe is great because it's from the time when we were starting out.

Wait I'm a bit confused.
Weren't these guys supposed to call it quits some time soon?
Not that I want them to quit but... Oh well..

HERE I AM, ROCKING TILL I FINALLY GET PAID
Hate this band

These guys won the award for worst album title of the year last year.

Comeblack is such a witty album name. Lulz.
But I'm actually curious as to how this will sound. There are times when this band sucked, but their 70s and early 80s material are damn good.

scorpions fucking suck, that vocalist is awful
|
| |
This and the new Periphery album will be competing for crappiest aoty
|
| |
So much for that farewell tour my brother paid out the nose to see a show from.
|

Comeblack; the someguest school of humour.

This band killed it's reputation with their decisions over the last 20 years or so.

Also, the comments on this thread are hilarious.

I love their old works but the thing that they're doing nowdays is just stupid
|
| |
they managed to bring their career to a respectable end and now they do this.

Saw them last year at a festival, it was good, but they seriously should think about really quitting the game, 40 years is more than enough. I'm curious to know how this turns out though (vocal-wise, it shouldn't be anything special since he can't sing too well anymore)

Band is definitely a classic, but more than likely those "unfinished" tunes are going to get fucked up.

Good god why? People need to stop paying for these old bands to ruin their careers with awful attempts at another paycheck. And this one sucked to begin with.

"resurrecting unfinished songs from what some people say was our best time", their best time was Fly to the Rainbow, In trance, Virgin Killers and Taken by the Force. Those albums are heavy rock jewels, the rest is bullshit

Doesn't sound like a good idea...

Not sure what to make of this... It could be cool, but I'm not a fan of their newest albums... As much as I like the Scorpions, I'd rather them just throw the towel than risk a royal fuck up.
|
| |
yeah, as a huge fan of their 70s stuff, ain't nuthin to see here

HERE I AM, ROCK YOU LIKE A HURRICANE
|
| |
