2012-06-06 by Vegeta of Nazareth | 38 Comments

Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist, Flea, has tweeted that the band will release 18 new songs over
the course of the next 6 months via 7'' vinyl singles and digital download.

Drummer Chad Smith further details that at least 10 are from their sessions during their 2011
album, I'm With You, while the others were written on the tour following its release.

This should be pretty good. they've always had strong B-sides which is what I assume these are.

The newer songs should be interesting, keen to see if Josh has started to solo more.

Yeah what? John just announced that he's releasing an EP and an LP, it is going to ruuuule.

So that, along with this, will make for a bright immediate future

When they said "this is only the beginning" at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, I kind of cringed.

John is coming out with too much new music for me to care, and if any of these RHCP songs are any good, I'll just wait for Igor to cover them on youtube.

They have to really get the right balance of Chad/Flea dynamics and Josh's new school type breezy singing and dream popness.

Like "Meet Me at the Corner" without that terribly corny ending section
