Eminem, andcas?
Also, another question:
Is it because they're becoming too metal to have a dj?

|

Lol, Leeson of the day for DJ Lethal: If they didn't choose to make a band with the most retarded frontman ever, with an obvious lack of culture visible in the fact that he hasn't ever read a book , actually you will be a decent act instead of a fucking joke and you will be still in that decent act.
Keep rollin lethal,lol
|
| |
Next thing that will happen: Otto will be fired in less than 1 week.
|
| |
Haha this Eminem diss is awesome.
But nah Andcas I either forgot or I never heard about it.

If Otto goes, who the hell will take me to the Mathews Bridge?!

Otto and Lethal are both gone it seems
|

they used to be friends but as far as I know they never made up.
|

NOOOOOO!
I dont mind seeing Lethal go as he didn't add much to the later LB apart from interludes... But Otto brings the groove.
|
| |
I guess they really were just doing it for the nookie...and drug money.
|
| |
Band should just die already
|
| |
fred really has no room to talk though so this is pretty dumb.
|
| |
meh he wasn't being utilized anyway, just like all other bands getting rid of keyboardists, this is pretty much the same thing, they're just using technology to make their music

@andcas yeah but that was so long ago... instead of just making that assumption, ill go with what i've observed over the past 5-6 years... durst isn't fucking johnny craig or austin carlile, he's looked out for the band in a big way, and he's done it very publicly. Even though people who hate limp bizkit instinctively hate fred durst the most, he's got a lot of friends across the industry... love him or hate him, he's a shrewd businessman and everything that's been awesome about LB has come from his theatrics.
Don't get me wrong, I love Lethal to death, but kicking someone out over substance abuse issues and then reading "HE'S A FUCKING TYRANT" seems like the same old song to me...
also it's hard to take what you say about this 100% seriously because of your idiotic criticisms of gold cobra and your irrational hatred for all things durst (which you're entitled to, of course... im only bringing em up so you understand how much thought is going into this reply)
|
| |
I think he was probably on some kind of substance when he made TWENTY-FOUR tweets about this one thing, yelling his head off about being a slave in each one. lol.

Also, it figures that as soon as they switch to a hip hop label, they loose the most hip hop-like aspect to their music instrumentally speaking.
|
| |
lets get a few things straight on the matter shall we. I actually
grew up with limp bizkit when they were on the rise and was the
biggest fanboy of their material up to chocolate starfish. I even
enjoyed some of results may vary and the unquestionable truth.
they were my very first concert I ever attended all the way back
in 2000 and I practically worshiped the ground they walked on.
it sucks to say it but I do think they've outstayed their welcome
and I don't care for gold cobra because it was a jumbled mess
of a cash grab without any real flair.
I still blast their old shit along with other nostalgic nu-metal acts
but that doesn't mean I have to buy into a disenchanted comeback.
I'm well aware Fred is a smart businessman who at times probably
gets an unfair amount of hate. I'm still entitled to be disappointed
and call him out about the lame behavior he’s exhibited in the past.
it doesn't make me irrational when I’m a critical fan if the shoe fits.
the fact I even bothered to type this much points to the opposite
direction of your opinion. Perhaps the upcoming album will turn
turn out to be really decent in the end.

I actually grew up with limp bizkit when they were on the rise and was the biggest fanboy of their material up to chocolate starfish.
they were my very first concert I ever attended all the way back in 2000 and I practically worshiped the ground they walked on.
so you already disliked the material they played at your very first concert but you practically worshipped the ground they walked on ?? (anger management was them touring chocolate starfish... depending on where you were geographically, it coincided with the album's release)
this is exactly what i mean... just say you got bored of them or you grew up or got into "real" music like escape the fate or whatever... don't try and impart some grand line of reasoning about why GC is inferior because its basically an updated version of their most popular shit
less important:
me (which you're entitled to, of course... )
you I'm still entitled to be disappointed and call him out about the lame behavior he’s exhibited in the past.
me ?? chill out, dude.
I called your criticisms idiotic and your hatred irrational because you never defend them when asked to. And you don't have to, really, unless you have a problem with me calling you out on it (on the internet) (in the comments section of a limp bizkit article)
You could just as easily say: this sounds bad to me, and that'd be fine, but it's really easy to see how full of shit you are when you say things like youre a fan of their old stuff, but
fred durst is like what? pushing 40 something? it's not cute anymore.
or
I highly doubt this album will thrust them back into the limelight.
and then call it a "cash grab"
i mean do you even think before you type what you type or do you just have a stash of pre-written copypasteable bullshit
|
| |
My life will never be the same without him in Limp Bizkit
|
| |
Oh man how are they ever going to recover? God I hope this isn't their downfall.
|
| |
Gee yeah its not like they've ever had any downfall... except being there in the first place.
Why would you even want to stay in the band where your leader is a stupid man-child who's in his 40's and still wears his hats backwards, makes jokes about how incredibly hung he is, and doesn't give a crap even if everybody listens to him only ironically? LB is a joke, and it grew unfunny about ten years ago.
But DJ is a fucking poser too
|
| |
where did I state that I hated their material when I went to their show? I specifically shared I loved all three albums they performed and i've talked about the fond memory plenty on this site. I fancy you consider yourself a real limp bizkit fan so tell me when you've ever made the effort to see them live. this is by far one of the dumbest arguments i've ever had on sputnik thus far academy. what part of I still blast their old shit along with other nostalgic nu-metal acts but that doesn't mean I have to buy into a disenchanted comeback don't you understand.
so because I've taking shots at modern day durst and his music that some how negates I ever liked their old shit? get the fuck outta here. I’ll throw on a limp bizkit record I still dig when the mood is right while screaming fuck gold cobra if I want to buddy. The new stuff sounds like ass to me so get over it. I wish I had liked it because then I wouldn't have to be dealing with your whining. the fact you’re even trying to question and taint what was a big part of my childhood as if you were there is insulting. stop being butthurt over something so trivial and go ironically 5 some more shitty albums.
|
| |
Actually, and while I think you'll agree my interpretation was understandable, I think it may have been a miscommunication between us:
biggest fanboy of their material up to chocolate starfish.
I read this as 'up to (and not including) chocolate starfish.'
so tell me when you've ever made the effort to see them live.
Anger Management Tour, 2000, same as you :D
(not copypasting it but it's the rest of what you wrote)
Firstly, this seemed a much more gratifying and honest response than ugh i love limp bizkit but fred durst is too old... ITS NOT CUTE! or whatever... I am questioning that which was a big part of my childhood only to the extent that you seem to contradict yourself in recent discussions... obviously I wasn't there (although, I WAS at the same show, so you'll understand me reading 'liked everything up to chocolate starfish' and 'worshiped them at anger management' rang a little disingenuous to me.
less important:
me You could just as easily say: this sounds bad to me, and that'd be fine...
you The new stuff sounds like ass to me so get over it.
me once again, that's cool, I'm just wondering why you feel this way (feel free to respond in the Gold Cobra thread instead of here, unless you're too mad at me... then maybe some other time)
|
| |
and also under "less important":
ironically 5 some more shitty albums.
I thought you'd know by now that i've never done this, so you typing it (even if it was done in a rage) disappoints me somewhat... I wouldn't say I was butthurt before but I might be now... i thought you got me, man...
|
| |
I have a love/hate relationship with limp bizkit as an adult. I'm not exactly thrilled at the recent events that have transpired since the band reformed so of course I'm gonna vent about it. I'm sorry you've found my previous negative comments misleading to the overall feeling of how I view them as a whole when I reminisce. you should know by now to take everything anyone says on here with a grain of salt. if they never meant anything to me I wouldn't even be debating any of this shit with you. I don't like gold cobra because it just comes off as a former shell of what the band was and I think they failed in trying to recapture the days when they were in their upmost prime.
limp bizkit were always tongue and cheek but it seemed natural back then where as now it comes off as annoyingly contrived. I would say maybe it appears that way because I am more mature now but that doesn't explain why I still can muster enjoyment from their older material. I'm sure nostalgia plays a big part in that but I literally got nothing when listening to the new record. I know this is probably a laughably thing to have wished but at their age I did expect some attempt at growth of any kind both musically and lyrically. if they went in a direction of walking away I'd be singing a different tune but we’ll see where they go from here and maybe we’ll come to agree later.

limp bizkit's best songs have always been their mellower ones.
when they build up it's also extremely more effective. rearranged,
boiler, down another day, hold on, nobody like you, build a bridge,
don't go off wandering, sour. listen to previous albums again and
then cobra. when I recall shark attack and a few others it's really
jarring how many lyrical rehashes there are from other work.
