News article of the year
Digging: Phace - Shape The Random
Don't let it grow. Make her fame die!
Song of the year
because it's your sister. near the one minute mark. purple jacket, on the left.
Was surprised she sounding as good as she did (comparatively) than the "yeah yeah yeah" bit came about and she slipped back into form.
Digging: Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero
Everyone has been waiting for this.
that didn't really seem so bad
not 'good' but it seems on par with a lot of stuff pushed on the radio and mtv
Digging: Ashdautas - Where the Sun is Silent...
Damn she is looking fine. She's almost as hot as the Hot Problems girls.
friday was obviously terrible, but i never understood the outrage over it. not when stuff like kesha exists.
I'd slow-dance with the cat to this heartfelt, quirky tune.
wow rebecca black really stepping it up!!
WHOAAA OH OH OH OH
"not when stuff like kesha exists. "
Somebody doesn't brush their teeth with a bottle of Jack.
Hate to say it, but after listening, I must say she is actually pretty good looking now. Song is pretty bad, but at least better than the shit-upon-music she made last time.
she is amazng
OH YEAAAHH!!!! I've been waiting for this!
I still hate her but I will admit this is a massive improvement over her first song, I could actually imagine hearing this on a radio station. A station that plays really shitty music, but still.
That's a stupid way to spell it.
"friday was obviously terrible, but i never understood the outrage over it. not when stuff like
You underestimate, I think, just how bad "Friday" is. The lyrics aren't just terrible, they're
insulting to her. I can't imagine that a 14-year-old girl with any reasonable amount of cognitive
thought could have written them. Everything from wondering which seat in a car to take, to giving
us a kindergarten lesson on the days of the week, to the INCREDIBAD use of ghetto dialect: "We, we,
we so excited! We so excited!"
Then there's the fact that Rebecca Black actually has a decent singing voice for a 14 year old
that's completely hidden behind the least tonally diverse auto-tune I've ever heard in a song.
Seriously, Lil' Wayne has more range in his songs than Rebecca Black does here.
And if it's not enough that it is, in my own and many, many other people's opinion, one of the worst
songs musically and lyrically ever written and sung in the history of pop music, there's also the
fact that people truly, actually, genuinely ENJOY it. And when people enjoy this song, which I
consider the slime at the bottom of the barrel, and when a song like this can make famous its
performer, what hope is there for the future of popular music? Music in general, even?
I mean, fuck Ke$ha, too, but it's "Friday's" fame that I believe will ultimately prove itself to be
popular music's "shark jump."
Has her voice actually dropped that low in such a short time?
i agree that friday's lyrics were terribad, i just don't think that its any worse tha most pop music today. that shark jumped 5-10 years ago and it just keeps getting worse and worse. as it stands today, popular music is an absolutely disgusting cesspool of sluts, douchebags, stds and first grade reading levels. we've already reached a point where the music on the radio is completely and utterly worthless garbage. i haven't turned a radio on in at least 6 years or more, there's simply nothing of value.and if you don't think kesha (i'm just using her as an example but there are many more like her) is that bad, these are actual lyrics of hers.
"I don't really care where you live at
Just turn around, boy, let me hit that
Don't be a little bitch with your chit chat
Just show me where your dick's at"
"I wake up in the front yard
(We don't care)
Wine stain on the sofa
(We don't care)
I threw up in the closet
And I don't care
Cause we're young, and we're broke
Grab my can, from my coat
Cause the sun is coming up and oh my god I think I'm still drunk
Where's my coat?
you literally can't get worse. this is quite simply rock bottom for popular music. so yeah, friday was horrible, but it was never any worse than the songs that were playing at the same time.
You guys realise that Rebecca Black didn't even write Friday, right? She just performed it.
and you think that's any different from any other pop star? it would be noteworthy if she DID write
her own songs.
"You guys realise that Rebecca Black didn't even write Friday, right?"
Yeah, I stated as much:
"The lyrics aren't just terrible, they're insulting to her. I can't imagine that a 14-year-old girl with any reasonable amount of cognitive thought could have written them."
"as it stands today, popular music is an absolutely disgusting cesspool of sluts, douchebags, stds and first grade reading levels. we've already reached a point where the music on the radio is completely and utterly worthless garbage. i haven't turned a radio on in at least 6 years or more, there's simply nothing of value."
Dude, lose the angst and realize that there's no reason for radio music to have any deeper meaning. You fault the artists for not being intellectual, but they're getting money out of it (which is obviously why they're here) so they're winning regardless.
And to equate Friday to "all popular music at the time lol" is fucking ridiculous. There's stupid stuff on the radio, sure, but you reeaaaaally think it's on the same level?
And to equate Friday to "all popular music at the time lol" is fucking ridiculous. There's stupid stuff on the radio, sure, but you reeaaaaally think it's on the same level?
Not to even fucking mention the plethora of bands that show up on the radio that aren't cocaine-addled whores, like you'd say. Foo Fighters? What sluts! Adele, you say? Nah, drug lord!
People always seem to be underestimating the fine art of not giving a fuck.
Chevelle, tool, Metallica... Also, I'm not an avid radio listener, but I've never heard a Rebecca Black song on the radio (and I don't exclusively listen to rock radio, i have some friends with shitty taste who I ride in cars with)
if there is anything on the radio right now that you honestly think is significantly better then i'd like to see it. i realize they're just trying to make money, but it disgusts me when i see young girls singing along to those songs. they know full well their target demographic is impressionable teenagers, and i think its downright reprehensible that we as a culture have deemed this type of hyper-sexualized, drug-endorsing "songs" to brainwash the minds of the youth. just like kids who drink syrup because weezy did it. when you have that much fame i feel that there is a certain degree of responsibility that comes with that fame. these people have a platform where they could spread positive messages, but instead the message that they're sending to impressionable girls is "suck dick and do drugs if you want to not be a loser." its less about the music itself and more about the message that they send with that music. inb4 tl;dr and inb4 umadbro, this is serious issue to me.
Sounds like Christian propaganda. Also, do you really think that this will have a total lasting effect on these girls?
Well you've got balls to post this on any music site I'll give you that...
i can die in peace
Digging: Troy Baker - Sitting In the Fire
"if there is anything on the radio right now that you honestly think is significantly better then i'd
like to see it."
Here you go, buddy.
wow I wasn't expecting this
isn't middle school still in session
Oh omaha did you mean http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcQfiYUXrtI
At least there was no creepy rapper.
I believe that music piracy is the main factor in the downfall of pop music. With dwindling sales most record labels are only signing the safest, poppiest, image driven stars these days. They've done a ton of research on music and know what makes money and what doesnt. Young girls are the most likely demographic to purchase music right now so thats why alot of pop music is geared towards them. All you have to do is look at Justin Bieber being the biggest star in the world for proof of this.
So while popular music (not even just "pop" music but popular music in general which includes rock and hip hop) has suffered greatly the last 10 years, the "underground" is booming. With the internet underground music is easier than ever to listen to. Just gotta find it. Its a shame that alot of people dont seem to dig past the top 40 though, which are mainly girls from my experience who just want to dance and have fun and dont really care appreciating music on a deeper level than that. Im talking college age girls too not just 12 year olds.
Digging: Fuck Buttons - Slow Focus
Yeah where the fuck is the 40 year old rap dude? Fuck this shit, also she is pretty hideous.
Also, the news article rules.
Although this site does bring good news a lot, I can always count on Sputnikmusic to inform me on whenever a terrible
artist has a new song/video/album out. Thank you.
Digging: The Danse Society - Seduction
She dresses like a 30 year old who is in denial about her age.
AWESOME! Dat autotune
Comments on the link vs comment here are fantastic.
I'm not even going to listen to the song, it can't be as entertaining as this.
I think this is definitely her best track for her kind of audience. I hate it but I think I'm supposed to. For the target audience, I think it's up to scratch. Certainly will go down better than her other songs.
Thankfully her internet fame has bought her better autotune technology.
well this thread is going fantastically thus far.
keep it up, dudes.
Call Me Maybe came from a 26 year old and the song is the same level as Friday.
'Here you go, buddy.
Yea lol next thing you're gonna say that fun.'s 'We Are Young' is a great song haha
She's the same age as my sister. Explains why I don't find her attractive at all.
I don't perv over 14 year olds, sorry.
Yeah it would.
And I practically am out of high school
Aww Recspecs got banned hard for the little rant I made about auberginedreams being a dumbass. RIP.
Wasn't as bad as expected. I could see this being played on popular radio stations here.
there is no fucking way she was born in 97
Bro she was born about the time pokemon red/blue came out. Sucks for her for not being able to experience such a awesome gaming experience.
I want somebody older than me, definitely not younger.
I would fuck Rebecca Black you had better believe it.
I'm considering moving to where she lives and marrying her.
Okay that's a little weird dude what the hell marriage wow you sick fuck.
dev would agree
GET ON MY LEVEL
That's some really intense eye contact
Yeah I mean 17 / 27 sounds a lot worse than 57 / 67.
big difference between 14 / 18 and 36 / 40
17 / 27
I couldn't do that, not even 27/21.
Don't care, if Rebecca Black showed up at my doorstep right now naked I would give her a double penetration shotgun.
autotuned as fucked
"your still assuming that age dictates specific levels of maturity which is far from true"
It has nothing to do with maturity. I just don't find barely-pubescent children physically attractive.
autotuned as fucked
Doesn't even vaguely resemble her real voice, or what her voice was made to sound like on Friday.
Digging: Ethereal Shroud - They Became the Falling Ash
I stopped listening to Eisley for this, why did I do that?
I'm considering moving to where she lives and marrying her.
mmm dat ass girl
I don't think it's the worst thing ever, it's just kind of there. That's a HUGE step up from before, so I guess I would pos this if you could pos songs.
its not just on teenage girls, im 19, kids my age listen to this madness on the radio, even guys, its pretty demoralizing, its like they dnt care but to dance and have fun, its really really sad
its so crazy how young kids can be brainwashed so easily, its actually terrifying
To each his own?
If I threw on some metal, most people would look at me funny.
Basically, 'Shuggah brainwashed me
valid point, but its more creative and takes much more talent
The average person does not take into account talent, intricacies, and nuances, partially because they don't play an instrument or know music theory and mostly because they don't care. That's why a lot of music is popular, it's simple and agreeable to a normal person. It helps to not look into it and go on a holier than thou streak (a la auberginedreams). Accept it for what it is and don't listen to it if you don't like it.
Digging: The Blue Hearts - The Blue Hearts
awesome avatar rot
yeah pikachu rules
Wow. Why am I not surprised this exploded into an argument. You people can start an argument anywhere.
There's no arguing when it comes to pikachu with a strap on, that rules
yah this never was an argument lol, i get it, thats why i dont listen to radio, i still think its sad though
I actually think this song is a pure classic compared to Ke$ha's or Nicki Minaj's work.
Tits aren't even that great.
just ignore her and she'll go away.
Digging: Big Blood - Double Days II
"Tits aren't even that great."
Erm, if you are referring to her tits in particular, fair doos. But tits in general?! I pity you.
yeah the pedophile comments here aren't even funny, just creepy as fuck.
damn rebecca back dat ass up!
aub has sex with children
bigger news than godspeed tour
I prefer Rebecca Black over most of the popular mainstream shit because I'd nail her so hard
Another shitty album made by a whore ,there is no way that this album could be tolerable
"It helps to not look into it and go on a holier than thou streak (a la auberginedreams)"
You know Aubergine is the one saying Friday wasn't a big deal, right?
Well, it was better than Friday. Still not good, though.
Honestly, why does she still try if she freaking released one of the worst songs in history and it became so viral? I'd just give up on music at that point. The chick needs to go into fine art... if you know what I mean.
Digging: Tera Melos - X'ed Out
I don't think she's allowed to do that yet.
"Honestly, why does she still try if she freaking released one of the worst songs in history and it became so viral? I'd just give up on music at that point. The chick needs to go into fine art... if you know what I mean."
Yeah, that's a pretty retarded sentiment.
@paxman I was referring to mainstream music in general and his rant on it.
this is the best news article i have ever read
Defintitely not the worst thing I've ever heard.
hoping my charm and wit will someday land me rebecca's affection
in at least 3 years. or 2 years if we're in new york state
Stop masturbating and get real here guys.
Decent pop song.
what is this i don't even
i just fucking shit my pants violently
that was the fucking worst thing i have ever seen
If she's not naked and getting stuffed then I'm not interested.
random year old bump balls. on a rebecca binge?
No, on a If she's not naked and getting stuffed then I'm not interested binge.
