Yeah, the album's a little bland. I actually really liked Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings. Band is pretty great overall.

Guilty pleasure band, will have to check this out later.

I'm not huge on the Indy Rock scene (aside from Butch Walker). However I've always enjoyed Counting Crows. My mp3 has Cannibal Corpse, Carcass, Carnifex, Counting Crows......

Poor Trebor, so desperate he had to come make a second comment cause his first one was ignored. Counting Crows actually have a big cult following they are an incredible live band that constantly recreate their music, as for their records they've never even tried to write another "Mr. Jones" which is why they are not in the mainstream audience anymore, they continue to do different things on each album and Duritz is one of the best lyricists of our time.
But as for this album, I haven't listened to it from front to back, but it is a covers album so it's not meant to be judged like an original release, it's just a bunch of songs that Duritz & the band love and either wanted to pay tribute to or for the lesser known bands being covered he wants to give them some publicity. Sounds like a pretty noble thing for a band to do to me.

Band is fantastic. Adam Duritz has always been one of my favorite lyricists.
