Sounds like old school Mastodon, even Matt sounds like the old Brent Hinds a little bit. Album definitely kicks ass though. HOF went all out with this one. As much as I like Mastodon, hate to say it, this is what The Hunter should have sounded like.

Liking this album more and more with each listen. Seems like they opted for a more progressive metal sound than stoner metal sound with this album.

This is there best album, no doubt. Lets up a little in the last two tracks but the first half MORE than makes up for that. Holy hell, this album is amazing. This is gonna be metal album of the year, unless, and this is the only possible thing standing in their way, if Electric Wizard makes a new album this year. Because we all know Jus Oborn and the gang can do no wrong and Black Masses was awesome.

"this is what The Hunter should have sounded like." Yeah the Hunter was apple sauce weak for sure. Kurt brought out the best in Pike for this album!!! :D

These guys rule so much! This may be my favorite LP of theirs.

I love all HoF, but Kurt Ballou's production and the songwriting on this is just top notch. There seems to be some new life in the songs without taking away from the High on Fire sound that is always there. This may become my favorite as well.

Sounds ridiculously like old-school Mastodon. That's a good thing.

Saw 'em once on a tour with Opeth, and wasn't particularly impressed. After hearing the first three songs, definitely gonna buy this!
