Skinny Puppy detail new DVD

2012-03-21 by Raul Stanciu STAFF | 7 Comments
On June 12, Industrial act Skinny Puppy will release a new DVD called Bootlegged, Broke, and In Solvent Seas, compiled from footage shot on the European leg of their latest tour, In Solvent See.

The band have left a message regarding the release: "Raw, uncompromising, and visceral, Skinny Puppy live cannot be called simply a concert. It is an experience. Bootlegged, Broke And In Solvent Seas proves this to be true. Recorded in Warsaw, Bratislava, Hildesheim, and Budapest, this is a documentation of Skinny Puppy in top form. Unlike so many other live albums, there is no editing magic or trickery. These are the songs as they were played: captured from the soundboard and a handheld recorder by Ken ‘Hi-Watt’ Marshall. Ogre’s powerful vocal performances coupled with cEvin Key’s synth modulations and sound manipulations and the machine-precise drums of Justin Bennet make this a stunning testimony to the power of this legendary act."

The album can be pre-ordered here:http://www.metropolis-mailorder.com/product.php?prodnum=MET+810

Here is the tracklist:

1. Prelude (Warsaw)

2. Rodent (Warsaw)

3. Dead Lines (Bratislava)

4. Dogshit (Warsaw)

5. Addiction (Bratislava)

6. HateKill (Warsaw)

7. Worlock (Hildesheim)

8. Morpheus Laughing (Warsaw)

9. Assimilate (Warsaw)

10. Shore Lined Poison (Budapest)

This is a CD, not a DVD.

Their original live DVD's were "raw, uncompromising, and visceral."

I don't know if they can still pull that off now.

I don't think they can pull off the raw, visceral thing anymore. Even look at "Ain't it Dead Yet" compared to "The Greater Wrong of the Right" tour. On the other hand, I'm enjoying their twilight years.

I saw them on the In Solvent See tour, in Montreal. They're still a great band.

They're an awesome band, but their live shows aren't what they once were.

Yeah, their shows are much more tame, but nevertheless they are still a great act to see live. They even played more older songs on that tour. I wonder when will they tour for HanDover; Ohgr mentioned something about a spring tour but it hasn't surfaced yet...
